So what the heck is reiki?

This is a basic definition by the Reiki Association:

“Usui Shiki Ryoho - the Usui System of Natural Healing - is a Japanese Healing Art. This form was founded in Japan a little over 100 years ago a by Mikao Usui, whose personal search to understand healing led him to Reiki. He developed his practice in Japan and in 1937 Reiki was introduced to Hawaii, by Hawayo Takata Sensei. It is passed on from Master to student through teachings, a defined form of practice and initiation.

The Japanese word ‘reiki’ can be translated as ‘universal life energy’ and the Usui System is a way of working with reiki for healing of self and others. The word healing is used in the sense of regaining harmony and wholeness. Usui Shiki Ryoho addresses the whole person on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels and those that we cannot identify at the present.”

Hey there everyone!

My name is Olivia Music and I’ve started learning and practicing reiki this year. I experienced trauma in my childhood and adult life. I was seeing some of the same excruciating patterns playing out over and over. Something needed to change- so I started with me. 💗

I’ve loved the balance and peace this practice has brought to my life.
Reiki has helped me to slow down and take time for myself.
I am also learning to work through stuck points and release blocks using energy as a guide.
Just as trauma can be stuck in the body, blocks can be stopping natural flow in the energy body.

Reiki has been tremendously helpful to me on my journey back to wholeness. All kinds of things come up in different ways. I give them attention and release them.

I am so excited to be able to help others on their journey! Whether you are serious about releasing deep-rooted issues or just want to try reiki for fun, I’m here to help.
