A few months ago I gave you 3 reasons why a person can not see out of their glasses. 1) the Rx is wrong, 2) optician took the wrong measurements 3) the lenses are defective. Well there is a 4th reason. Your health. If your blood pressure and sugar levels are elevated, your Rx will probably be wrong. Also thyroid can mess with your Rx. There are other levels but these are the ones I see frequently. You should check your levels if you have these problems before you have your eyes checked. I just found out something important last night about Anti-reflective coating (a/r) while on a zoom conference. I'm not a big fan of A/R coating. Contrast is more important than your visual acuity (v/a). Your vision depends on your contrast. As you get older, your contrast gets worse. A/R coating helps contrast which helps V/A. A couple months ago a buddy of mine had to get his A/R glasses replaced because they were scratched. I needed his frames. So he decided to get a new pair without A/R. so he'd have a spare. A spare is good to have. They came in sooner. So he came by and picked those up first. A few days later he picked up his A/R glasses. Both times he was very happy with his glasses. A few days later I get a call from Dave and he asked me why he could see better out of his A/R glasses. Son-of-a-gun, A/R does help your vision. One problem, they are a pain in the rear to keep clean. It's probably because it lets in about 98% of light into the eye instead of 90 to 95% with uncoated lenses. This is for Renna Optical patients and future patients. Your new Rx should include your visual acuity or what is your vision with glasses. If you are wearing glasses, we don't care what your visions is with out glasses. It's important for the optician, so he knows what you are going to see with your glasses. If you are not seeing 20/20 then your distance and near vision is not going to be clear in your glasses. If you are 20/30 or 20/40, you are losing vision. There are 3 reasons why a person with new glasses can not see properly out of the lenses. 1) The rx from the Dr. is wrong. 2) the optician took the wrong measurements 3) the lenses are defective.
A Dr. may not know what is the problem. It is going to take an optician with 10 - 15 yrs experience and probably owns his own business. The reason I say this is because an optician who does not know the problem will probably ask the owner if he knows what to do. That's why you should come to Renna Optical. I graduated from ECC in 1973. I've owned my business since 1983. I do not have anyone I can ask to solve a problem. I have to solve it and I do!! Do you know what alopecia is? It's a loss of hair. I didn't know you can cause that problem with your eye lashes!! If the lashes are too long and the curve is just not right, you are pulling on the lashes and that can cause traction alopecia. If you continually pull on the hair on your head, you can cause traction alopecia. You must be carful with the adhesive you use. You can have a reaction to the adhesive and cause an eye problem. Some of the fibers of the lash comes off and it gets stuck in the conjunctiva, the lining inside the eyelid. Now you have another problem. Go to a reputable beautician and make sure they use quality lashes and adhesives. Make sure glue does not contain formaldehyde. Just like glasses, spend a little more money, better quality and a better outcome. Any question, let me know!!

Good morning everyone. Two weeks ago I had my first covid shot. My second and last is Feb 8. So far Jesus Christ is watching over me so I can continue to work and bring home the bacon to mama. I am still open. Don't go to those huge retail stores where they see 20, 30 people a day and probably catch the virus. I see 10,20 people a week. Much easier to keep clean. My prices and quality second to none. Call, 836-4670. See ya!!
