The Fall 2025 application is open for the Meditation Leadership Practicum (Service Learning 298)!

No previous experience required.

This 1-credit, student-led, service-learning Practicum cultivates the skills, confidence, and experience needed to become meditation facilitators on campus. Through presentations, discussion, guided meditations, experiential exercises, readings, reflections, and personal practice, the aim is to strengthen personal relationships, contribute to a contemplative campus culture, and ultimately benefit our broader society. Courage, creativity and authenticity in service to community is a significant frame in conjunction with social justice and trauma-informed approaches.

Are you a sophomore at UMass Amherst? We’d love to hear from you!

Student Affairs and Campus Life is looking for sophomores to participate in a research study that will explore how students feel about their academic experience so far.
This will include not only what happens in the classroom, but also what happens in your life that might make it easier or harder to achieve your academic goals.

What you need to know:
Earn $200: Students who complete the study will receive $200
Application deadline: March 28 (we can only accept 12 students)
Time commitment: Around 1 to 1.5 hours per week for 4 weeks in April 2025
Share your story: We’ll ask questions about your academic experience at UMass
Real-world “missions”: Each week, you’ll choose a real-world “mission,” like trying drop-in tutoring or engaging with a professor, and share your thoughts on how it went
Confidential participation: You’ll submit responses online through an app, and all information shared will remain confidential
