As a clinical herbalist, I support clients with simple rituals and herbal protocols that can result in lasting change--not forcing the body, looking for quick fixes, or conducting detoxes.

Spring is a great time to consider a gentle reset to your daily routine. Orientation is the goal in the morning–-not stimulation. You are helping your body tune into the signals that it’s daytime, and help it recognize that it’s time to begin metabolic activity.

Many people benefit from starting their day with exposure to natural light, which helps support the body's circadian rhythm. Even 10 minutes will be supportive.

In the evening, natural light decreases signaling to the body that it is time to prepare for sleep. Supporting the body with this natural process can lead to improved sleep outcomes. However, in today’s world with light pollution, cell phones, never-ending work cycles, and chronic stress, creating a nighttime routine must include attending to sleep hygiene.

Sometimes you’ve got to chop off the old dead parts to experience new growth.

This little rhododendron used to be over 6 ft tall, and seemed to have died, so we chopped it down to open up the view from the kitchen window.

Almost immediately a new plant formed in its place. Now it has healthy shiny leaves and is thriving! 🌱

Consider this your reminder to release what no longer serves and embrace the healthier, shinier parts of yourself! 🌟
