Sad to announce NPC Judgement Day will be cancelled in compliance with with this mandate from the NPC President.

We will also be cancelling the NPC Arctic Muscle Fest in June. The NPC Midnight Sun will be held in October, specific date to be announced ASAP. All entry fees will be applied to future events. More information coming soon. Please be patient as we work on addressing issues as more information is available.

Addresses Coronavirus Concerns For Contests In The United States

March 16, 2020

With the ever changing information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the United States Government decisions being made in the USA, we will be CANCELING ALL scheduled NPC and IFBB Professional League contests in the United States beginning today, Monday, March 16, 2020 through Sunday, May 10, 2020. Some of these events will be postponed until a later date while some will just resume in 2021. Please look to the individual promoter’s pages for updated information about specific shows.

We are very disappointed to have to cancel these events but as always, the health and safety of our athletes, officials and fans is our top priority. The NPC and IFBB Professional League are focused daily on updates from the World Health Organization as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning COVID-19. As a reminder, the CDC has encouraged traditional precautionary prevention measures and guidelines.
We will continue to monitor the Coronavirus information on a daily basis.

AT THIS TIME we are preparing for ALL NPC and IFBB Professional League contests in the United States after May 10, 2020, to go on as originally scheduled. Nothing would make us happier than seeing all of you back on stage showing off all of your hard work. However we will continually monitor the daily information made available by the United States Government, State and Local Governments and the World Health Organization as well as the Centers for Disease Control for each promoter’s city and state if there are to be changes or further postponements.

NATIONAL PHYSIQUE COMMITTEE RULE CHANGE: GREEN CARDS
November 26, 2019

At the NPC National Board Of Governor’s Meeting held at the 2019 NPC National Championships, a New Rule was enacted in regard ALL United States Valid Green Card Holders. Starting in 2020, All United States Valid Green Card Holders Are Permitted to compete in ALL NPC National Level, IFBB Professional League Qualifying Contests here in the United States to earn an opportunity to qualify for the IFBB Professional League.
That means the following contests can now be entered;
-NPC Junior USA Championships
-NPC Junior National Championships
-NPC Universe Championships / NPC National Fitness Championships
-NPC Masters National Championships
-NPC USA Championships
-NPC North American Championships
-NPC National Championships
NOTE: You may be asked to provide a copy of your Valid Green Card for verification to enter these competitions.

2020 NPC WORLDWIDE WELLNESS CONTESTS

AS PROMISED WE ARE STARTING TO ROLL OUT INFORMATION ON THE INAUGURAL 2020 NPC WORLDWIDE WELLNESS CONTEST SCHEDULE!
————————————————————- -For 2020, there will only be 4 Height Classes Maximum at NPC Worldwide Pro Qualifiers. Not every Pro Qualifier will include the Wellness Division so keep your eyes out on which contests will include it in our Inaugural Year.

-For all NPC Worldwide Regional contests, non-IFBB Pro Qualifying contests, there will only be a Maximum of 2 Height Classes per division, i.e., Open, Masters, Novice, etc.

-THE VERY FIRST NPC Worldwide Wellness, IFBB Pro League Qualifier contest will be the 2020 Olympia Amateur South America (Medellin, Colombia), February 14th, 15th and 16th. 4 Height Classes and the Top 3 in the Overall Comparison Qualify for the IFBB Professional League as is done for all other divisions at this contest. —————————————-
-As previously announced . . . Just 3 Weeks Later the SECOND NPC Worldwide Wellness, IFBB Pro League Qualifier contest will be the 2020 Arnold Amateur. It is also the very First in the United States in Columbus, Ohio on March 5th, 6th and 7th. The Overall Winner Qualifies for the IFBB Professional League. —————————————-
-Two Weeks Later the THIRD NPC Worldwide Wellness, IFBB Pro League Qualifier contest will be the 2020 Arnold Amateur Australia in Melbourne on March 20th, 21st and 22nd. The Overall Winner Qualifies for the IFBB Professional League. —————————————-

The new Wellness Division will be available at all NPC Sanctioned shows in Alaska in 2020.

The rules and standards for this new division will be covered in the upcoming NPC Clinic in January.

Excellent interview with IFBB Pro League President and NPC President Jim Manion and Muscle Contest Promoter Tamer El Guindy explaining the NPC / IFBB Pro League's World-Wide expansion.

I've seen a lot of mixed reactions to the increased ability for non-US citizens to earn IFBB Pro status. One thing that has kept our sport on the fringes world wide is the exclusive posture the IFBB International League has always kept with regards to IFBB Pro qualifiers. For people outside the United States it has been near impossible to earn IFBB Pro status. In most countries you had to qualify for and win at the IFBB Amateur World Championships. It has truly been an uneven playing field giving Americans a significant advantage.

Change can make many people uncomfortable but change is the only thing you can count on. For those of us who would like to see bodybuilding grow, these are good changes. I, for one, look forward to exciting times ahead for our sport and I look forward to opportunities for American amateur athletes to compete over seas.
