This Black History Month, Selah House celebrates the strength and resilience of Black leaders whose voices continue to inspire progress.

We honor Sojourner Truth, a fearless advocate for justice and equality. Her courage and powerful words challenged injustice and left a lasting legacy.

Her story reminds us that healing and empowerment begin with being seen and heard. At Selah House, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, compassionate space where all individuals feel supported in their mental health journey.

We invite our community to learn, reflect, and support equity in mental health care—today and always.

Purging behaviors don’t have to include binge eating to be serious or deserving of care. Many people question whether their symptoms “count,” but behaviors such as vomiting, using laxatives or diuretics, or other forms of purging can occur on their own and may reflect purging disorder — a distinct and serious eating disorder.

Though it’s less widely recognized, purging disorder affects many individuals and can carry significant medical and emotional risks. Increasing awareness helps reduce stigma, encourages earlier support, and ensures people receive the understanding and specialized care they deserve. Read more here: https://hubs.li/Q03-Md260
