Seen a post on Facebook this morning concerning our Fundraising Event being held this Friday, starting at 5pm,at the Pizza Factory in Shelby.
A concern that was mentioned, is the event opened to the General Public. It is, without everyone from our community, we could not have this “ Very Important Event “. We definitely need Oceana County and beyond, to come out in Force. We need your support.

This is a Raffle type event. With so many different things being raffle off. It will be held in the back of the Pizza Factory.
You can purchase both beverages and food, directly from Factory.

They have been extremely helpful in helping us hold this event.

Remember folks, it’s all about supporting our Veterans and Community.

Well the Hams and Turkeys are in the Shed. I picked up 20 Hams and 25 Turkeys this morning from Walmart of Whitehall . I pretty much filled up the back of my truck with all that meat. When I got up the Legion, my other brother Darrell was waiting for me. We filled not only the freezer, but had to put a few inside the Legion.

Now we just have to get Lori to work her “ Magic “, and get the best results possible. It’s her turn to be like Vanna White and spin that “Wheel “.

Hey folks, I woke up this morning, excited about our upcoming Fundraising Event this Friday Night. And I have adea. Why don’t all of us,showing up to help with the event, from moving tables over, to actually working that night, wear Legion Shirts,Headgear and anything else, that shows we are Veterans.

Let’s really show our support for hosting this event. And then all of us, who are going to be in the Veterans Day Parade in Hart on Saturday, so the same.

Last thing, don’t forget Lori, myself and I hope others, will be participating in the 5K run/walk at Getty Park, Saturday morning. It starts at 10. Remember we are proudly 1 of the Sponsors for this event

Just got home from our monthly meeting . It went very well. We mainly went over how we are going to work the Yearly Fund Raising event this Friday.
Lori is going to handle the wheel and we got folks lined up to start moving things over to the Pizza Factory, starting at 12:30pm on Friday. We could still use some folks to help getting things moved.
Craig went over his list of things donated. It’s a pretty “ Big List “. Great job.

It’s looking like we are going to have the chance to raise a good chunk of funds.

Thank You in advance “Oceana County “. The Community continues to Shine

Hey my fellow Legion Folks. Just received the New Monthly Legion Magazine. There’s a great article about our new National Commander. His number one Priority is “Be the One “.
How many of you know what that means? How many of you know what you can do about it?

Think about it.

Take care and let’s get behind this mission

Just learned yesterday, that our post is starting to grow again. We recently had 2 members transfer in to us and even gained 2 completely new members. Great news everyone. Let’s keep it going.

Mr Bill Cook, thank you for the information.

Also Brian just called me to make sure I knew about next Monday’s very important meeting. It’s mainly going to be about the Annual Fundraiser Event on Friday .

Attn: Attn: Attn:, one and all, l just learned today, that one of our very own Legion Members, has just recently returned to town, after sitting down for an extended Interview with a major newspaper. Details of the interview are sketchy at best now, yet I am confident that the subject of taking care of veterans and other related topics were discussed.

Looking forward to seeing , with much anticipation , this storyline .

Beware , that once the story hits the general public , getting this paper Autographed , by the individual , could cost $, you a pretty penny

In closing , this individual deserves the recognition .

Hello my Fellow Legion Members and friends. Just thought it was time again to promote our yearly Large Fund Raising Event again. It’s going to be held on the 7th of November, starting at 5 PM. We have a new location this year. Brian was able to get with the Pizza Factory in Shelby. We have the entire back room of the business to hold our event.
Again there will be plenty of turkeys and hams. Plus lots of other stuff to Raffle off. From what I hear Craig, our very experienced Navy veteran is pushing hard to max the donations. And is doing really well.

We have other donations as well. Even a basket of Sports card stuff, from Lakeshore Sports, donated by Bill Welch in Whitehall. Thank you sir

Other news, the recent Oct 23rd edition of the Oceana Hearld had a good article about the Coffee and Donut event held at Heritage Wedding Barn. This event is held the 3rd Monday of every month, between 9-11 am. All Veterans and their wives are invited. No cost to anyone. It’s held by the Veterans Affairs Office, out of Hart. A great place to get to know local veterans and learn more about upcoming events and issues affecting all of us. Only one thing missing from this article. Oceana does have a number of Lady Veterans. We seldom see to many. So give a “shout out “,to them. They are a very important part of our community.

I noticed a few Legion Members, Mr & Mrs Keith Hoffman, the Deans and a few others. Wish more folks would attend. It’s a great event.

A note of concern to put out there. Our very own Commander’s Family is going through some Major Medical Issues, please pray for his wife and family. Really good folks.

Also just this past weekend, I had a chance breakfast get together with one of the National American Legions Vice Commander’s. Very surprising and inspiring meeting. More details later.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this coming Monday for us to discuss the Fundraising Event.

We are going to need everyone’s support

A couple of new things to add. There weren’t very many many Legions Folks at the coffee and donut deal yesterday. Where were they. Another question in regards to that . Where are these Veterans coming from? Are they in any of our other Veterans Groups? If so, which ones, if not, why not.
Tonight’s Pizza and Pop night, held at the Pizza Factory in Shelby. Lots and lots of folks. Even a decent amount of our own members.
Back with one of my previous questions. Where did these Veterans come from ? If their not one of us, which veterans group do they belong to? Why not ours. There was even some young people, under 40 there. We need these people

How can we get them to join us? Heck l met a Female Veteran, who lives near our building, yet belongs to a Veterans Group in Ludington. We need her.

How can we get these people?

Don’t forget, our Big Fundraising Event is happening soon. What are you doing to promote it? What are you doing the day/night of? We need all hands to make this a success.

Come on Folks. We really need all of you.

Thank you.
