Our Story

Have you been struggling with the demands of life? Are you unsure of what your next move should be? Do you seem to feel down more than you feel up? Are there too many things going on in your world where you feel like you are about to lose it? That's where a Health and Wellness Coach can assist you! A health and wellness coach will work with you on your present situation and assist you in reaching your wellness goals going forward. Becka is here to help you regain the reins of your life and find the balance between all of life's demands. Becka was sexually assaulted in high school and became depressed and suicidal. She turned to alcohol to cope with her feelings. She finally found help from a health and wellness coach, as well as applying the techniques she learned in her education to her own personal situations. It was in these capacities that she found empowerment and was able to positively cope with her feelings of despair.

Becka has had a long journey in experiencing mental health issues. She was diagnosed with depression in high school, and PTSD in 2013. She found holistic ways to positively cope with the symptoms of these diagnosis’. Becka was diagnosed with Bipolar in 2011, and un-diagnosed at the end of 2019. Through all of her experiences, she has spent time in various psych wards, as well as an incarceration at Baltimore County Detention Center (April 2019-September 2019) for non criminal traffic violations. It was through these experiences that she has gained strength, and understanding of what people go through when they find themselves institutionalized. Becka received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Frostburg State University in May of 2008. She has obtained her Master’s in Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching with a concentration in Nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health in June of 2017. Becka has worked in various human services programs upon receiving her degrees. Those jobs include: drug and alcohol counselor in a maximum security prison, Patuxent Institute (2008-2010), drug and alcohol counselor in various methadone clinics (full-time and part-time; 2010-2012), aftercare coordinator in a medium-security prison, Central Maryland Correctional Facility (2011), drug and alcohol counselor in a halfway house (part-time; 2010); caregiver for the elderly population (2014); and community mentor for adults living with developmental disabilities (2014-2017).

Becka has many different hobbies that include meditating, Bible Study, running, reading, walking, biking, going to concerts, hiking, snowboarding, and being outdoors.

Becka enjoys helping others help themselves, and brings a mind, body, spirit approach to her coaching methods. In the mind, body, spirit approach, Becka focuses on the whole person in order to assist individuals on their wellness journey. Becka believes that the mind, body, spirit are all connected, and if one of them is negatively affected, it affect’s the others. Becka’s goal is to provide affordable wellness services so that no one is turned away due of the inability to pay. Coaching sessions can be completed via telephone, in person, or on various web technologies.
