So many opinions and so much information on health that it is confusing and hard to make decisions that improve our lives. We thought it would be good to have a time to have discussion with our patients IRL on health topics of interest. We also considered having some speakers with a Q&A session afterwards. This would be limited to patients of our practice. You y'all like this idea? What topic would interest you?

The CDC no longer recommends Hepatitis B vaccine for babies of mother who test negative for hepatitis. That is the vaccine that was given universally on the first day of life.

We are getting questions about autism and Tylenol after the recent announcement from the White House. Of course, we are all concerned about autism and there are a myriad of voices that seem to implication many factors. This does cause confusion and distress. The announcement indicated those officials at the press conference believe that Tylenol could be one contributing factor for some individuals. Considering there few options for fever reducers or pain relievers for use in pregnancy, this announcement causes a lot of concern. Also there are major medical organizations who disagree with this link. What to do?
We recommend the precaution principle limit use in pregnancy to more serious need and use the minimum required. Hopefully over time there will be more clarity on this issue.
