Patterson Health Center As the local healthcare destination, we’re working to bring first-class care to our community.

In July of 2019, the newly constructed Patterson Health Center opened its doors. Patterson Health Center resulted in combining two Critical Access Hospitals and clinics residing in Anthony and Harper, Kansas respectively. The new Critical Access Hospital offers 16 inpatient beds, 22 rooms to support our Rural Health Clinic and Outpatient Specialty Clinics, Outpatient Therapies and a 24/7 Emergency Department.

⚠️ Safety Tip: Don’t flush meds! Patterson Health Center has a "Take Back" bin for safe disposal, located near the lab.

Today we’re giving a big shout-out to Ashley Hilger, our Revenue Cycle Manager - and one of the friendly faces behind the scenes who helps make your experience at Patterson Health Center smoother from start to finish.

Ashley loves the people she works with and the community she serves, and she’s passionate about helping patients navigate their financial questions with clarity and compassion.

Our Business Office Team offers several options and is always here to help you understand your bill, explore payment plans, or find answers that fit your situation.

Outside of work, Ashley is all about family, critters, and country life. She and her husband C**t have been married for 17 years and stay busy keeping up with their boys, Lane and Carter, plus their “small zoo” at home - Jax the silver lab, Cotton the oversized cat, and a flock of “pretty girls” (her chickens!).

We’re grateful for Ashley and the heart she brings to PHC every day.

A fresh year brings fresh motivation. But sticking with your goals is the real magic. Here are a few simple tips to help you stay on track in 2026:

✨ Start small. Big goals grow from small habits.
✨ Make it realistic. Choose changes that fit your life, not someone else’s.
✨ Track your progress. Even tiny wins count.
✨ Find support. A friend, a group, or even a routine can keep you going.
✨ Be kind to yourself. Progress isn’t always perfect...and that’s okay.

Help us give a huge round of applause to our latest graduate, Larry Oller!

Larry’s journey started after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure and undergoing a MitraClip procedure. He knew he needed to get his strength back, and he had the best possible motivation at home: his wife, Karen! Having gone through our cardiopulmonary program herself, she knew exactly how much it would help Larry get back on his feet.

During his time with us, Larry didn't just "show up" - he put in the work. He mastered the art of exercising correctly, learned the ins and outs of heart-healthy eating, and embraced the importance of staying active.

Larry says the staff played a huge role in keeping him motivated and on track, providing the solid foundation he needs for a long, healthy life. We are so proud of your hard work, Larry! Keep moving!

Just after celebrating his 62nd birthday, David Earls experienced a heart attack completely out of the blue. Two stents later, he turned to Patterson Health Center’s Cardiopulmonary Therapy program to help rebuild his strength and confidence.

“At first I wasn’t doing well,” David shared. But session by session, he learned how to manage his diet, stay active, and listen to his body.

Montana Shea, RRT, and the rest of our team made all the difference.

“They were caring and concerned. They cared,” he said.

David encourages anyone recovering from a heart event to give the program a try. Not just for the exercise, but for the support, education, and equipment that help patients feel safe while they push themselves.

“They had me wired up to make sure I didn’t overdo it. I felt like I was in good hands,” he said

We’re proud of you, David - and we’re cheering you on every step of the way.

As we head into the holiday season, here are our adjusted hours for clinic and outpatient services. Please keep these dates in mind if you need to schedule appointments, pick up medications, or plan routine visits.

While some departments will be closed or have limited hours, our Emergency Department remains open 24/7 for emergencies.

This professional milestone is a step in a Mobile Integrated Health grant from the Patterson Family Foundation, which helps strengthen community-focused health initiatives in our region.

Crissa’s added training enhances the way she connects patients with resources, supports care coordination, and helps reduce barriers to better health.
