This Doctors’ Day, we recognize the physicians who show up each day with compassion, skill and a deep commitment to those they serve. Their impact reaches far beyond treatment, touching lives in ways that truly matter.

We’re honored to share the first episode of Purpose in Practice, highlighting Dr. Nathalie McKenzie and the story behind her calling to care. Join us in celebrating the physicians we’re grateful to work beside — and the moments of healing they help create every day.

After a heart event, healing is more than recovery. It’s learning how to live well again. That’s why AdventHealth Apopka is launching a new Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation program focused on whole-person care. This program combines supervised exercise with nutrition guidance, cooking demonstrations and mindset support to help patients build lasting, heart-healthy habits. Designed for those recovering from conditions like heart attack, heart surgery or heart failure, this program meets people where they are and helps them take the next step forward.

Care changes everything for patients and families in moments that matter most. That care comes to life through the physicians who show up each day with skill, compassion and purpose.

At AdventHealth Apopka, we spent Doctors' Week celebrating those physicians and the difference they make in our community. From small surprises to moments of gratitude, it was our way of saying thank you to the doctors who bring comfort, guidance and hope to every patient they serve.

Because of them, more people in our community can feel whole in body, mind and spirit.

Join us in thanking our physicians for all they do.

Care doesn’t begin and end with a diagnosis. In Apopka, our physicians create spaces where patients and care teams feel supported, respected and connected.

Dr. Ricardo Alequin Sanchez has spent decades building that sense of trust and teamwork at the bedside. Dr. Jose Silva Rivera brings a steady, compassionate presence that helps patients feel at ease. And Dr. Johanna Yunk fosters connection not only with her patients, but across the care team, strengthening the experience for everyone.

This Doctors’ Week, we’re reminded that our physicians are more than medicine. They help build the kind of environment where healing can truly begin.

Every day, our physicians walk alongside patients and families in some of life’s most important moments. During Doctors’ Week, we take time to recognize the difference they make. Through every conversation, decision and act of care, they bring our mission to life, caring for the body, mind and spirit of each patient they care for.

We’re grateful for their dedication, their resilience and the many ways they show up for those we serve, often in moments few others see. To celebrate the difference they make and the purpose they live out each day, we’re sharing real stories of care, connection and impact. Follow along and help us honor the physicians who help our communities feel whole.

AI is becoming part of everyday life, including health care. But it’s important to know what it can do and what it can’t.

AI can help spot patterns, support preventive care and give doctors more time to focus on you.

What it can’t do is replace your doctor, their judgment or the human connection that healing requires.

We use technology to improve care, not replace the care teams who support you on your journey to feeling whole.

Your kidneys play a quiet but vital role in keeping your body in balance. On World Kidney Day, it’s a meaningful reminder to pause and pay attention to the signals your body may be sending.

If you’re noticing ongoing fatigue, swelling, frequent urination at night or persistent back pain, it may be your body’s way of asking for care.

Listening early can make a real difference.

Losing an hour of sleep can feel big for little ones (and for parents, too).

As we spring forward, small changes can make a meaningful difference in your child’s body, mind and mood. A gradual bedtime shift, morning sunlight and a steady nighttime routine can help everyone adjust with a little more ease.

And if the first few days feel emotional or extra tired, that’s normal. Give your family grace.

Spring is a reminder that renewal doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Sometimes, it starts with one small choice.

Wholeness begins with small steps, taken one at a time, with support along the way.
