Planning ahead is one of the best habits you can create to live a healthier life.

Eating healthy consistently can be a challenge if you are not prepared. Kerry, with Soul Movement, suggests putting some time aside on Sunday (or whatever day works best for you) to look at your week ahead, make a meal plan and meal prep.

These cold ramen bowls are an easy lunch she makes for her teenagers. They are easy to put together, they are packed with protein and fiber, and are also very yummy.

*Grilled chicken (made extra when grilling dinner Sunday)
*Rice ramen noodles (Costco!) (Boil the noodles until done - then run under cold water)
*Stir fry veggie blend from the freezer section
*Season bowls with rice vinegar, coconut aminos or soy sauce, and a small dash of sesame oil.

**Build your lower body muscles and burn more calories**

Did you know that muscle burns calories when your body is at rest? Because our legs contain our body’s largest muscles, they burn the most calories when at rest.

In addition to burning more calories, strengthening your lower body has many other benefits:

*increases metabolism
*strengthens bones and joints
*improves balance and coordination
*increases functional strength – everyday movements
*helps prevent injury

Don’t skip leg day! Beginners should aim to work their lower body 1-2 days per week. 🦵

Muscle Matters is a small group program designed to help individuals get comfortable with strength training. During each session you will learn basic lifts for different body parts. Many of the exercises you will be able to do at home with dumbbells or bodyweight.

Join Kerry Peeters on Wednesday 8/20 at 5:30am OR 5:30pm for our next group session. We will be focusing on exercises to strengthen our biceps and back.

Sign up for as many sessions as you'd like - sign up for one or all five! You don't have to join them all and you didn't have to attend the first one. Come to any sessions that fit your schedule!💪
