Are you aware of the powerful effects of seed cycling on your hormones?

Seed cycling is a natural and gentle approach to supporting hormone balance by incorporating specific seeds into your diet during different phases of the menstrual cycle.

Here are some of the 🔑 benefits of the practice and why I swear by it:

✅ Reduces PMS Symptoms
The seeds used in seed cycling contain nutrients like zinc, magnesium, and essential fatty acids that support the body’s hormone production and metabolism. By helping to balance hormones naturally, seed cycling can ease common PMS symptoms such as bloating, breast tenderness, irritability, and fatigue.

✅ Supports Menstrual Regularity
By regulating estrogen and progesterone levels, seed cycling can help promote regular menstrual cycles. Women experiencing irregular periods, heavy bleeding, or spotting may find that seed cycling helps stabilize their cycles over time.
PMID: 37324929

✅ Eases the Menopause Transition
The natural phytoestrogens in flax and sesame seeds can support estrogen balance, while the progesterone-promoting properties of pumpkin and sunflower seeds can alleviate symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings.

✅ Promotes Hormonal Detoxification
Flax and sesame seeds contain lignans, which are compounds that support the body’s detoxification of excess estrogen. This is especially important for women dealing with estrogen dominance, which can contribute to conditions like heavy periods, fibroids, and endometriosis.

✅ Boosts Fertility
Seed cycling may help optimize fertility by promoting a healthy balance of hormones necessary for ovulation and reproductive health. The omega-3 fatty acids in flax and chia seeds support the overall reproductive system, while zinc in pumpkin seeds can enhance progesterone production, which is vital for maintaining a pregnancy.

Have you ever tried seed cycling?

I want you to take a break right now and think back to the last time you were sick… 💭

Maybe it was one of those days where every movement felt like a struggle—your body felt heavy, your energy was completely drained, and even simple tasks seemed impossible. It’s that foggy feeling where you know you’re not functioning at your best, and all you can do is wait to feel like yourself again. Or worse, maybe it was a time when you worried about missing out on things you love because your body wasn’t cooperating.

🙅‍♀️ Not fun, right? 🙅‍♀️

I like this exercise of remembering one extreme (sickness and suffering), so that we can fully appreciate the other extreme—health and vitality. Think about how good it feels when your body is full of energy, your mind is clear, and you can show up fully for yourself and the people you care about. 💗

I completely agree with Francois Rabelais — Without health, life is not life; it is only a state of languor and suffering.

I truly hope health is one of your top priorities in life. If it isn’t yet, now might be the perfect time to start thinking about how to make it one. Your future self will thank you for it!

When was the last time you felt truly energized? Drop a 💪 in the comments if you’re prioritizing your health!

Ladies, I have a message for you… 💌

👉 Your period now will share insight into your menopause transition. 👈

The hormonal imbalances that cause difficult periods in your 20s and 30s can offer important clues about how your body will handle the transition into menopause. If you’re experiencing symptoms like:

❌ Severe PMS
❌ Irregular cycles
❌Heavy bleeding
❌ Or intense cramping

…These are signs that your hormones—particularly estrogen and progesterone—are already imbalanced.

⚠️ And unfortunately, hormonal imbalances that go unchecked in your younger years tend to compound over time. For example, estrogen dominance, where estrogen is high relative to progesterone, is a common issue in women with difficult periods. This imbalance can lead to:

👎 Heavier periods
👎 Mood swings
👎 And increased PMS symptoms.

When left unmanaged, estrogen dominance can also contribute to worsened perimenopausal symptoms such as severe hot flashes, irregular bleeding, and weight gain as you transition into menopause.

Additionally, stress, poor nutrition, lack of sleep, and chronic inflammation can all exacerbate hormone imbalances and make it harder for your body to regulate hormones as you age. 😩

Taking steps now to balance your hormones—through diet, lifestyle changes, and stress management—can help ease the intensity of your period today and set the foundation for a smoother, more manageable transition into menopause. Remember, how you care for your hormones now will shape your experience later in life. ❤️

STOP wasting 25% of the year! ✋

Many people fall into the trap of thinking they can’t focus on their health during the holiday season, or they tell themselves to wait until after the holidays to start working on their well-being. But here’s the truth...

✴️ The holiday season makes up nearly 25% of the year. That’s three whole months! ✴️

Imagine how much progress you could make if you committed to your health right now, instead of waiting for the “perfect time.” There will always be celebrations, busy schedules, and excuses.

The key to lasting health is finding balance during these times, not putting your well-being on hold.
It’s about making small, mindful choices that add up over time. Whether it’s:

✅ Staying hydrated
✅ Going for a walk
✅ Or simply being conscious of what you eat.

You don’t have to be perfect; you just have to show up for yourself, even in small ways.

It’s also important to understand that you don’t need to be 100% perfect to make progress. Enjoying an occasional holiday meal or indulging in your favorite seasonal treats won’t derail your health goals. Remember, the key is finding balance.

One festive meal isn’t going to set you back, but letting the entire season be an excuse to postpone your health will. Focus on consistency rather than perfection—enjoy the celebrations, and then get right back on track with your healthy habits the rest of the time. This mindset shift can help you stay on course without guilt or stress. 💪

10 ways to honor yourself when you’re struggling with hormone imbalances 👇

💗 Prioritize Rest and Sleep
Your body needs extra rest during times of imbalance. Honor yourself by allowing time for quality sleep and relaxation.

💗 Practice Mindful Eating
Eat nourishing foods that support hormone health, such as healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables.

💗 Set Gentle Boundaries
Honor your energy by setting healthy boundaries. It’s okay to say “no” and prioritize yourself when needed.

💗 Incorporate Stress-Reduction Practices
Hormone imbalances are often tied to stress. Honor your body by practicing stress-reduction techniques like deep breathing, yoga, or meditation to help calm your nervous system.

💗 Move Your Body Gently
If your energy levels are low, honor yourself with gentle movement like walking, stretching, or yoga. Remember to listen to your body and avoid overexertion.

💗 Speak Kindly to Yourself
Honor your mental well-being by replacing self-criticism with compassion. Remind yourself that hormone imbalances are temporary, and it’s okay to move through this phase at your own pace.

💗 Celebrate Small Wins
Progress may be slow, but honor yourself by celebrating small victories—whether it’s improving your sleep, sticking to a health routine, or simply making time for self-care.

💗 Create a Self-Care Routine
Honor your body by building a routine that supports your hormonal health. This could include skincare rituals, herbal teas, journaling, or taking supplements.

💗 Reach Out for Support
Honor yourself by seeking support from friends, family, or a healthcare professional. You don’t have to go through hormone imbalances alone!

💗 Give Yourself Permission to Slow Down
Honor your body’s signals by giving yourself permission to rest, slow down, and focus on healing without guilt.

Save this post for the next time you need a gentle reminder to honor yourself. 🙏

How does fiber support detoxification and hormone health? 🤔

When I first learned about how fiber impacts detoxification and hormone health, it completely changed how I approached my daily meals. Fiber plays a critical role in detoxification by binding to toxins, including excess hormones, in the digestive tract. This binding action allows the body to efficiently eliminate these substances through bowel movements.

❌ What happens if you don’t get enough fiber? Toxins and excess hormones can be reabsorbed into the bloodstream, disrupting the body’s natural balance.

✅ Adding fiber to your diet, especially insoluble fiber, helps promote regular bowel movements, preventing constipation and ensuring toxins are flushed out.

🌟 Another bonus? Fiber supports liver function by promoting bile production, which helps the body eliminate fat-soluble toxins. PMID: 28140328

And when it comes to hormone health, fiber is just as important!

↪️ Soluble fiber, in particular, binds to excess estrogen in the gut
↪️ Which prevents it from being reabsorbed
↪️ This is key for avoiding estrogen dominance
↪️ Which can lead to issues like PMS and fibroids

Fiber also helps regulate blood sugar levels by slowing the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream, preventing insulin spikes that can throw hormones out of balance. Plus, fiber feeds beneficial gut bacteria, which are essential for metabolizing hormones and keeping everything in check.

Incorporating more fiber into your daily routine can be one of the simplest ways to support your body’s natural detoxification process and maintain balanced hormones. It’s why I always prioritize fiber-rich foods in my meals—think leafy greens, flaxseeds, and whole grains!

What’s your favorite fiber-rich food? 🍽 Let me know in the comments!

5 benefits of adaptogens for hormone health 🌿

1️⃣Balancing Stress Hormones (Cortisol)
Adaptogens help regulate cortisol levels, the body’s primary stress hormone, which, when chronically elevated, can lead to hormone imbalances. By reducing cortisol, adaptogens support overall hormonal balance and reduce the strain on the adrenal glands.

2️⃣Supporting the Adrenal Glands
Chronic stress can exhaust the adrenal glands, leading to adrenal fatigue, which affects hormone production (especially cortisol, estrogen, and progesterone). Adaptogens help restore adrenal function, improving energy levels and preventing burnout.

3️⃣Regulating S*x Hormones (Estrogen and Progesterone)
Some adaptogens help modulate estrogen and progesterone levels, improving symptoms of PMS, menopause, and irregular menstrual cycles. They also support hormone production and balance, essential for reproductive health.

4️⃣Improving Thyroid Function
Adaptogens can enhance thyroid hormone regulation by reducing the impact of stress on thyroid function, which helps improve metabolism, energy, and overall hormonal health. I’d highly recommend ashwagandha for thyroid health.

5️⃣Reducing Inflammation
Many adaptogens have anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce chronic inflammation, which is a major contributor to hormone imbalances and conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, and thyroid disorders.

PMID: 19500070
I always tell my clients that hormone health isn’t just about regulating one hormone—it’s a holistic approach, and adaptogens are a key tool in that journey. Supporting your adrenal glands, reducing inflammation, and balancing your stress hormones can make a world of difference in how you feel day to day. 🌟

Have you ever tried any adaptogens? Tell me your experiences in the comments!💭

Let’s talk about the connection between the nervous system & hormone health! ⤵

If you ever find yourself feeling constantly stressed, exhausted, or struggling with mood swings, there’s a good chance your nervous system and hormones are in a tug-of-war. At the center of this complex relationship is something called the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) Axis, a critical pathway that helps regulate how our body responds to stress.  PMID: 12361884

➡️ The hypothalamus in your brain talks to the pituitary gland
➡️ Which then instructs the adrenal glands to release cortisol (the body’s primary stress hormone)
➡️ In moments of stress, this axis works overtime, flooding your system with cortisol to help you.

But here’s the catch… 👀

Chronic stress can throw EVERYTHING off balance. When the nervous system is stuck in overdrive, cortisol production skyrockets, affecting other key hormones like:

🚀 Estrogen
🚀 Progesterone
🚀 And thyroid hormones.

Elevated cortisol levels can disrupt your mood, energy, and even reproductive health. It’s no surprise that chronic stress is linked to irregular cycles, fertility struggles, and sluggish thyroid function.

🔸Then there’s the fight-or-flight response, the body’s emergency system. When activated, it redirects resources away from non-essential functions—like digestion and reproduction—putting hormone production on the back burner. If this response is constantly triggered, you may start noticing symptoms like fatigue, hormonal imbalances, and even issues with fertility.

🔸But there’s hope! The vagus nerve, a powerhouse of the parasympathetic nervous system, is like a calming switch for your body. By activating it through practices like deep breathing, meditation, or yoga, you can help lower stress, reduce cortisol levels, and support healthy hormone balance.

When it comes to hormonal health, managing stress is key. Understanding how your nervous system and hormones are connected can be the first step in reclaiming your well-being. 💗
