Listening to Arlington Fire Chief Bret Stidham at the Arlington Senior Men's Club yesterday was truly inspiring. Hearing him speak about the challenges our courageous firefighters confront each and every day inspires me to be of service to them.

Soon, we will meet to discuss just how the Luraco Care Chair Program can help our firefighters relieve stress and enhance performance.

This fire chief understands the opportunity cost associated with helping our firefighters function at their best. Every city invests millions of dollars in equipment that firefighters use to combat fires. However, the most important and most valuable pieces of equipment in this equation are the individual firefighters themselves.

That is why we are committed to doing everything within our power to ensure that our firefighters have access to the most effective tools to relieve stress and empower them with the ability to sustain peak levels of performance. Why? Because someone's very life may be dependent upon it!

Just think about that for a minute!

Socially Acceptable Su***de

Many people are actively engaged in socially acceptable su***de.

They deliberately engage in activities that cause their demise.

Why? Because sometimes it is more comfortable to stay the same than to change.

Not that they do not know they need to change.

The consciousness that speaks to us all has spoken to them.

They have selected to disregard it because it seems easier to stay the same.

They console themselves with the idea that it's okay because no one will blame them.

Why, because others are doing the same thing.

No one will point the finger of blame.

However, this leads to the destruction that they have permitted.

If you choose this path, that is your choice.

Yet, consider that you may need to repeat this lesson until you learn.

How many lifetimes will it take before you awaken?

So if you see someone on this path, simply love them.

Your love expressed toward them could completely change their trajectory.

Regardless of it being socially acceptable, it should not be acceptable to you.

This is your life, live it to the fullest.

Here is to the Elimination of Human Suffering

Imagine a world where warm hearts are open to the call of love
Where the cries of humanity are heard by every ear in range
Where the wounded bodies are healed and broken bones mended
Where pain and suffering are removed from time and space

Where caring hands reach out to cradle hurting souls
Where suffering is finally blown out by the winds of change
Like a scorching flame that has burned much too long
Because now there is an active kindness in this place

Now bright smiles gleam like the rays of the sun
Now the sighs of relief replace moans of pain
Now the fresh fragrance of wellness drifts upon the air
Now a look of peace and joy is upon every face

Such a vision for humanity is no mere fantasy
It’s a reality that showers the earth like a blessed rain
As humanity awakens to the truth that we are all one
Mankind is the only begotten child of his Father’s Grace
