MEET BRIAN:
My name is Brian Crenshaw, and I am a 62-year-old recovering addict. My recovery journey began through NAS Recovery, which helped me see and believe that I could overcome my addiction and that support would be there for me every step of the way. Before NAS, I was immersed in despair, unable to realize that my daily drug use was contributing to my condition. I felt stuck, in a great deal of physical and emotional pain.
The support and guidance I received have been instrumental in every part of my recovery and my life rebuilding process. I consider myself blessed to have come into contact with one of the most knowledgeable and compassionate individuals in this fieldâArian Campbell. Her honesty and lived experience resonated with me and has influenced everything I do.
Thanks to her guidance, I have experienced personal growth, lasting stability, and a genuine appreciation for what it takes to maintain the life I now enjoy. Iâve learned how to implement consistency of purpose in my daily routine, set realistic expectations, boundaries, and goals.
One of my biggest successes and milestones is that, this August, I will celebrate two years of being clean. During this time, I have secured my own apartment, sorted out my benefits, and improved my health. Most importantly, I have been able to reunite with my daughter and grandkids. I also received my recovery coaching certificate, a step that has opened new doors for meâall thanks to NAS.
Connecting with NAS has given me a more intimate understanding of the challenges faced by those in the addiction community. Before, I thought my struggles were just mine alone, but Iâve come to realize how powerful connection and community truly are.
To anyone out there on a similar path, I want to say that recovery is yours if you are willing to put in the work. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You are worth it. Recovery is possible.
