☀️😎🏖SUN EXPOSTURE ☀️😎🏖

We’ve been taught to be afraid of the sun. To put layers of toxic sunscreen on our skin so we don’t get cancer.

The truth about skin cancer is that it’s caused by a combination of toxins (often found in suntan lotions) and pathogens in our bodies.

I know, pretty mind blowing 🤯

Sun, on the other hand, is amazing for our bodies and soul. It helps us detox, heals us, makes us happy and has a number of other functions not yet talked about.

So this summer:

☀️Start small. Get your skin used to the sun. Expose it just a few min at a time to build up a layer and to not get burned. Build up your skin’s tolerance slowly, even if it’s only 5 min at a time

☀️stay in shade during the highest sun. Best time to build up tolerance is in the morning when the sun is not too strong yet

☀️avoid getting burned by layering up loose fitting clothes

☀️for a long term exposure (for example at the beach) use gentle and all natural sunscreen

It’s hard going against what’s commonly believed. When it comes to health and nutrition, there are so many outdated and down right dangerous beliefs we are being fed by the industries. Here are a few:

🍎Apple Salad 🍎

Perfect on a hot day and so easy to make 😋

4 cups mixed leafy greens
2 apples thinly sliced
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup thinly sliced red onions

Dressing:
1 1/2 tbsp pure maple syrup
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground ginger

You can also just do maple syrup with lemon juice or substitute nutmeg and ginger with cayenne 🌶

Pregnancy and childbirth take a lot from us women. During pregnancy we lose 50% of our immune system bc it is protecting the baby who doesn’t have an immune system of their own yet.

During childbirth we lose 90% of our immune system bc of the amount of adrenaline it takes to birth a child.

Postpartum is a crucial time when women very often get sick. The reason why is bc of the lower immune system and hidden pathogens that see an opportunity to attack. Then, adding stress of being a new parent and sleepless nights and a young mom can end up being bed bound for months if not years and never getting answers to how to heal her symptoms.

Do you think the medical industry is here to cure us? 🤔

I’m not talking about the hardworking doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, both from conventional and alternative medicine.

It’s been over a year now that we’ve been living in a pandemic 😷 And yet, I haven’t heard once from media about the importance of strengthening your immune system so it’s ready to fight the 🦠 we are up against. Take a shot, they say, and go live your life.

But isn’t there more we can do for ourselves?

The true empowerment comes when you know how to support your own body. Making your immune system strong is the first step to overcoming the fear we’ve been fed. I am not dismissing the threat, I believe it’s very real, but there is much to be said about how we respond to it.

Here are a few tips on how to strengthen your immune system daily:

💊take the right supplements- @vimergy vit C, @vimergy Zinc, Elderberry Syrup (more about those in my next post)

🌞get enough sun exposure- sun does more than help us produce vit D. Along many undiscovered functions, it helps our bodies absorb nutrients and simply boosts our happiness

😴get enough sleep - everything resets during sleep including your immune system

🤬reduce stress - your immune system lowers during stressful times. It’s important to take the time to relax, especially if you’re going through a hard time lately

🥗eat the right food - viruses eat certain foods like eggs, dairy, gluten. You can either feed them or starve them. You have a much better fighting chance of you don’t feed the 🦠 once it’s in you
