“Last week I tried another new (to me) therapy on my selfcare journey. If you would like to take your workout recovery or your meditation practice to the next level, go for a float. This is the chamber I was in for 90 minutes. You might be thinking it’s too much, but truly it’s the perfect amount of time to meditate and sink into a deep self awareness. @omfloat takes care of you! They think of everything to make your experience the very best. I challenge you to give it a try! Comment with your thoughts below, especially if you’ve already experienced it. 🧘♀️”

It’s part of human nature, we overthink, we over rationalize, we stress about what’s to come to the point where it causes anxiety and fears...we ALL do it. True clarity comes from NOT thinking. It comes from silence, not the overthinking and agonizing over decisions. Find YOUR clarity at OmFLOAT by booking your first 90-minute float session today!😌✌️

"While many floaters come for the stress relief, a fair number of others come for the athletic-performance benefits the salt soak offers. It’s even become a favorite recovery method for some pro athletes.
“This is one of the best things you can do after a hard workout for sore muscles,” says Charles. [owner of Chill Space NYC]
It was the physical perks that inspired my visit to Chill Space after a Sunday-morning 22-mile run. Sore calves, screaming quads, a tight back—sure, there’s Advil (and alcohol). But an hour soaking in the mother lode of Epsom salt baths? Sign me up."

When we attended the Float Conference last weekend, we had the pleasure of listening to Dr. Justin Feinstein share some incredible research being done by him and his team at the Float Clinic & Research Center (FCRC) at Laureate Institute for Brain Research.
When the Float Clinic & Research Center (FCRC) was built several years ago, it was constructed with the notion that floating could help individuals who suffer from anxiety develop a new relationship with their internal body, one which ultimately would lead to less suffering in everyday life. While Dr. Feinstein and his team still have a ways to go before fully testing this idea, we are pleased to share with you the publication of their 2nd float study, a randomized controlled trial in patients with high levels of anxiety sensitivity.
The full paper can be read here: https://goo.gl/jMRYmE
A quote from Dr. Feinstein regarding the results of their research:
"I have been truly inspired by the results, with patients reporting significant short-term improvement in depression and anxiety after floating. More than simply reducing symptoms of mental illness, the float experience seems to enhance mental wellness, allowing patients the opportunity to experience life in a peaceful and serene state. It should be noted that many of these patients have tried other forms of treatment, including medication and psychotherapy, and unfortunately, none of these other treatments have provided much in terms of relief."
Please help us spread the word about these exciting new findings by sharing this post or tagging a friend who might be interested in the research!
“When you live a busy life, you need to pause and take a moment to breathe and relax. Forever thankful for my floating sessions. 90 minutes of meditation and peace in the tank with me, myself, and I. #positivevibes #rejuvenation #serenity #Om #peaceofmind 🙌🏽🕉🌊✨”

"As I daydream in my private pod, the sensation is so wondrous, I’m astonished it’s taken the rest of us so long to cotton on. In this era of relentless information, smartphone addiction and 24-hour news, floating is a glorious way to switch off."
- ANNA MAXTED for the Daily Mail
Anna Maxted visited the Floatworks in South London to try out Floatation therapy. She shared her experiences of the visit and revealed how she reached a state of bliss in the pool.
”Almost everything will work again if you unplug if for a few minutes, including you. I'm not always the best when it comes to meditation - I fidget, get distracted, reach for my phone, get a dog nose in my face, etc., but floating takes away a lot of my ”excuses.”
Floatation therapy isn’t for everyone, but I really look forward to unplugging for 90 minutes and do my best to get out there weekly. The experience is instantaneously beneficial, the facilities are gorgeous, and the owners at @omfloat are absolutely amazing.
Added Bonus: Research suggests it can also help benefit those with muscular pains, anxiety, trouble concentrating, depression, trouble sleeping, burnout, weight loss, and fatigue.
What are your favorite ways to unwind?”

"I can't speak for those with chronic pain or seasonal depression (although you’ll find gleaming reviews from those affected on OmFLOAT’s five-star Yelp page), but as a woman with clinically diagnosed anxiety and insomnia, I can say with confidence that one floating session boosted my mental health and gave me some much-needed relief from my symptoms."

"As time went on, I moved past relaxation and entered what I can only describe as an almost trance-like state; at times, I couldn’t tell where my body ended and where the water began. I couldn’t tell if my eyes were opened or closed, and I couldn’t tell if I was awake or asleep. It was like meditating on steroids. I was able to access the kind of deep, internal calm that I’d only read about in meditation books—and I was able to do it in about 30 minutes (researchers in Japan found that participants exhibited increased theta activity in the brain during sensory deprivation, which promotes deep relaxation and could explain my “fast track to zen” experience)."

Each pod is filled with 850 pounds of Epsom salt to suspend the floater and nourish the skin, but the benefits reach far beyond being a great exfoliant. Floating has been shown to reduce insomnia, stress, depression, anxiety and even chronic pain, and floating centers like Om Float in Ashburn are popping up across the U.S. now more than ever.
