Dizziness is one of the most common reasons Americans see a Doctor, but did you know there are different kinds of dizziness?
-Vertigo is an acute, powerful sensation that you or the world is spinning. Typically this is so strong that you will not be able to walk, may experience nausea or vomit, and may have rapid eye movements called nystagmus. Typically this does not last for more than a few minutes.
-Dizziness is a low grade feeling that your body and/or head is swaying, rocking, or bobbing. This may be present all the time or it may come and go. You are able to function but with difficulty, and may not feel comfortable doing certain things that require precision or balance. It is possible to have dizziness and vertigo, but they do not usually occur at the same time.
-Light-Headedness is a sensation that usually occurs when standing up quickly from sitting or laying down. There is an unbalanced and unstable sensation that occurs along with a feeling of light-headedness or a sensation that you may pass out. This does not last long but may trigger other symptoms such as headaches.

These are issues that can be treated by our experienced Doctors at Beyond Wellness! There are many causes to these problems but it’s paramountly important to figure out what’s going on first with a comprehensive examination that assesses how your inner ear, visual system, and musculoskeletal systems are working independently and together. For the past 6 months I've missed every attempt over 90%. Kept working on my weaknesses, constantly reviewing my technique, and finally worked up to a new PR at 250#. Can anyone see where my weak point/energy leak is?

You can see my mobility is not bad, especially for wearing sneakers. As I come up out of the hole, I go into hyperextension at my thoracis umbra junction. You can see the bottom of my rib cage flared forward and sticking out. This signifies I have more core strengthening to do, especially in the overhead position. This flaw will affect my strength and stability and can severely affect my shoulder stability at the bottom (and oh hey, my right shoulder usually gives
out in the catch).

Don't give up on the things you enjoy doing when going through dry or difficult spells. Focus your energy and attention on what's not working, try like hell to improve it, and usually that lands you in a pretty good spot.

***How's your posture***
I often get the question, "How can I fix my posture so I no longer have upper back and neck pain at work"
The answer can be complex when we only look narrowly at anatomy, like "tuck your chin", "pull your shoulders back", "don't round your back"
However, we should instead look to find ways to remove tension of any kind. This can include deep breathing, movement breaks every hour, or as in the case pictured above, a subtle cue to promote healthy posture without tension.
(Try this) Pretend like there is a string attached to the crown of your head that is attached to a single helium balloon. It doesn't make you look up, but instead makes you taller like a turtle coming out of its shell. You'll notice the chin come back, the shoulders rest downward, and your back muscles will relax. You should notice a drastic reduction in body tension, while also assuming neutral sitting posture. Repeat every time you start to feel tension start to build while you are working. #beyondwellness
