Safety first!

Don’t let your kid sit in the front seat too soon.

We get it—your 9-year-old looks almost like a teenager, they’ve outgrown cartoons, and they’re begging to ride shotgun.

But here’s the truth: it’s not about age, it’s about safety.

The CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics both recommend kids stay in the back seat until they’re at least 13 years old or have reached the appropriate height and weight for adult seat belts—typically 4 feet 9 inches and 80+ pounds, or, when a seat belt fits properly over their shoulder without a booster seat.

Why?
Because front seat airbags deploy with incredible force—and they’re designed to protect full-sized adults. For a child, they can cause serious injuries or worse in a crash.

Let them be “too big” for a booster. Let them be “too cool” for the back seat. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩.

MISSING BOY | Guilford County deputies are actively searching for a missing boy. 10-year-old Gregory Terrance Thomas Jr. was last seen wearing this hoodie. Deputies said they responded to Field Pine Drive in Browns Summit on Monday around noon. A reserve 911 call went out to neighbors to notify them of Gregory's disappearance.
