YOU’RE DOING IT RIGHT!

I’m just here to take a page out of book right quick and pass on the insane encouragement that she gives us in her book (which you should read!).

If you are showing up. If you are attempting to do the thing. If you are working to walk in obedience to the Lord. If you are present today, committed to what it is that life has handed you at this time... then you are doing it right.

What a beautiful truth! Just show up. Do what you can and then push yourself further because I’d wager that you can do more than you’re giving yourself credit for.

Let’s stop worrying about other people seeing us do something wrong or incompletely. Let’s stop the comparison game. Let’s stop wishing for xyz to happen and work on the thing that is in front of us today. Show up. Work. Ask for help. Seek out wise council. Try. Fail. Try again. But do not give up.

10/10 recommend getting after it today - whatever your “it” is - for the glory of the Lord and calling it a solid days work when you’ve worked for Him. If that’s what you’re doing, then you are doing it right.

PSA: I still love my job 🤗

The amount of times I’ve been called Mrs. Bourn is astounding 😂 but I am continually happy to go to work every day.

Navigating a new job during covid has been wild and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!

Y’all grad school was hard. There were many tears. Many doubts. Many moments of frustration and insecurity... and I’m so glad I kept going. I’m so grateful for the people who prayed for me and walked through it with me.

I’m so thankful for a season where my discipline had to be SOLID because there were countless times when my motivation did not exist.

Our discipline has GOT to be greater than our motivation. A strong work ethic makes all the difference. Let’s work together!

Taking time to reflect and be thankful.

It’s a game changer! Spending time being thoughtful about my mindset has been incredibly helpful for me as I’ve started a full time job and am relearning what life looks like in a new season during a weird season!

First Day of School!

My office walls are still pretty empty. I ask approximately 1,183,937 questions per day. I don’t think like I’m getting everything done I need to. I KNOW I have a lot of catching up to do...

BUT. I have the best job in the entire world.

I get to partner with students, parents, and faculty every day and it’s amazing.

To do this well I have to take care of myself. Mentally, physically, emotionally. To do that, I need people. We were created for relationships and we are responsible for who we surround ourselves with. I’m so thankful for the people I have in mine.

Thanks be to God for every job I’ve had and every person I have known that have taught me, molded me, and led me here.

I am overjoyed!

The importance of friendship cannot go overstated! We were created with a natural desire for relationships, so spend time with your people and soak it up.

Go for it.

Stop questioning your ability. Stop telling yourself you can’t. Stop listening to people who tell you you can’t - that’s their own insecurities being projected on you. Stop deciding that because you can’t do something 100% YET, it’s not worth it.

Hesitation is the cornerstone of mediocrity.

You are not mediocre unless you decide you are.

So, get out there and get after it. You are the thing that’s standing in your own way, so go for it. If you fail? Fail forward. Learn, grow, try again.

I’d love to be your champion and show you just how capable you are. Sometimes all you have to do is ask for help - it’s there waiting for you.
