Are your thoughts, words, and actions moving you toward clarity and the center of consciousness —or away from it?

In Chapter 1 of the Bhagavad Gita, the conches are sounded as the battle is about to begin.

A call to stand present, awake, and aligned with dharma in the midst of difficulty.

The conches on the virtuous side create harmony and yet we know that sometimes, skillful action requires us to make sound — to speak, to choose, to engage —
not from agitation or ego, but from steadiness of mind and discernment (buddhi).

Yoga reminds us that the work is not avoiding action to create harmony, but acting from the center rather than from confusion.

The center of consciousness is where it’s at.
From there, even strong action can serve truth.

The energy we engage in matters…Today , we explored brahmacharya — the art of tending our energy with care.

Not forcing. Not spilling.
Simply noticing: is our energy nourishing us, or quietly draining away?
…and moreover how does this impact the whole?

In twists, we felt the body spiral inward — gently wringing, redirecting, and refreshing our life force.

From an Ayurvedic doshic lens, twists gather scattered Vata, cool and clarify Pitta, and awaken the steady depths of Kapha.

A practice of restraint, circulation, and conscious choice.

✨ You’re warmly invited to join me at Jai and explore the wisdom of energy in motion.

Shot out to for leading our community through another cleanse. Clients have reported feeling guided and not restricted, feeling a sense of safety and freedoms within themselves, lower cholesterol (and the bloodwork to show it), reaching optimal weight, and like a whole other door of knowledge about their own bodies can and can’t handle. Thank you so much Alex. It’s a pleasure to work by your side.

Beginning this week — Living the Bhagavad Gītā

If you’ve been feeling drawn toward study, reflection, or a steadier way of meeting life, this is a gentle reminder that our weekly Living the Bhagavad Gītā study begins soon.

This ongoing online group offers a simple, supportive rhythm of meditation, shared reading, journaling, and optional discussion — allowing the teachings of the Gītā to be experienced as lived guidance, not theory alone.

This space is especially supportive for thoughtful practitioners, people in transition, and those seeking clarity, ethical grounding, and quiet confidence in how they meet life’s choices.

🗓 Begins January 22
🌿 Online | Weekly

If you feel called to begin the year with study as a form of practice, you are warmly welcome.

I used to be that person who couldn't handle winter.

Cold all the time. Anxious. Dry skin. Restless nights. Counting down the days until spring.

Then I learned about vata dosha.

Turns out, my constitution (air + ether) gets completely aggravated by winter's cold, dry, mobile qualities. My body was literally experiencing the same elements both internally AND externally—no wonder I felt ungrounded.

The shift? Learning to cultivate the OPPOSITE:
- Warm oil massage daily
- Sipping warm water all day
- Root vegetables + good fats
- Consistent routines
- Extra rest without guilt

Now? Winter is actually restorative instead of something to survive.

If you're struggling with winter, you might be experiencing vata imbalance too. I created a January wellness guide with everything that's helped me—

The Bhagavad Gita is a conversation to return to—again and again.

In this course, we’ll explore the Gita as a guide for living: meeting uncertainty, making wise choices, and acting with clarity in the midst of everyday life.

This is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and listen deeply to teachings that have supported seekers for centuries—not as philosophy alone, but as lived practice.

If you’re curious, drawn, or simply feeling the nudge, you’re welcome here.
