Sleep is the single biggest variable that impacts every other health and performance goal. It signals your hormones in a positive or negative direction — too little or poor-quality sleep disrupts them all. Want to lose body fat, raise testosterone, improve focus, and reduce brain fog, improve sleep.
5 easy steps to improve sleep
-Be consistent — go to bed and wake within about an hour every day. Consistency optimizes both nighttime recovery hormones and daytime focus.
-Cool room — cooler is better. If you run hot, consider to help lower body temp and boost deep sleep.
-Make it a cave — no lights, no TV. Use blackout curtains and a sound machine if you’re a light sleeper.
-Ditch screens — read a book instead. Screens stimulate the brain and delay sleep onset.
-Build a habit — do the same pre-bed routine every night (even when traveling): dim lights, cool room, calming activity.
Consistency is the game changer, give it a month of steady habits and you’ll notice better sleep and recovery.
Shift workers: stick to a repeatable routine on your days off and home days. Supplements may help shift workers more, but routine and environment are still most important.

Good article from my colleague Simone Fortier explaining the symbiotic relationship the high performance athlete needs in order to perform optimally. Not one discipline in the management of an athlete is more important than the other, and when one of the cogs of the performance wheel is missing, re-injury or a decrease in performance will occur. The fascia system of the body helps those “wheels” to stay balanced and when treated properly, performance will be maximized, especially when each of these disciplines mentioned works together.

Incredible weekend with Carter
So proud of both of us, not only for qualifying back in October during a very stressful time, but also for all the hard work we put in after qualifying. Our family has been through a lot over the past 5 months and we could’ve just backed out and no one would’ve questioned us for doing so. But we didn’t, and all the training provided us with a great outlet and closer connection that I will cherish for years.

He certainly carried me thru the competition, as well as all those hard training weeks leading up to the competition. He held me accountable, and reminded me everyday I was older and slower than last year, so I had to train twice as hard!
