Jon uses a form of cowrie shell divination that originates from the Dagara culture in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

This system of divining is rooted in a lineage that is thousands of years old. Jon was introduced to and taught this technology by initiated elder and shaman Malidoma Some'. Jon worked with Dr. Some' beginning in 2006 when he participated in his first 2 year Indigenous African Spiritual Technologies (IAST) training. Over the following 15 years, Jon continued to work with and assist elder Malidoma

with teaching other students in the IAST trainings, co-facilitate community rituals such as a 5 day Grief Ritual and help lead a Jouney to Africa in Burkina Faso in 2018. Following a one year formal apprenticeship, Jon eventually received elder Malidoma's direct blessing to carry this indigenous technology and community rituals to the larger community. Elemental Divination uses shells, stones, bones, and other objects on a cloth that serve as messengers of Spirit. Jon employs the guidance of his Ancestors and specific medicine spirits to provide clear and relevant information for the seeker. The scope of this work includes nature-based ritual, energy attunement, emotional release, inner journeys, shrine building and talismanic medicine for healing and protection. Readings can offer insights into many aspects of one's life including original purpose, personal "medicine," relationships, work, health, and money. Along with an increased awareness of internal and external obstacles and confirmation of latent ideas or intuitions, divinations also provide "prescriptions" as part of an action-based approach to personal healing and fully engaging in the life you came here to live. Prescriptions serve a wide variety of purposes including personal cleansing and purification, recalibration and protection, release of old imprints, energetic balancing, increasing abundance and removing blockages to the flow in one's spiritual path. An old idea says that each of us arrives here with a specific gift. Likewise, we are also wounded in a very particular way. Wounds to the soul can block the threads of genius trying to make their way out into the world. Understanding the unique nature of both our gift and wound opens the way for our personal medicine to flow in greater proportions. It's been a long while since I have posted on this page. I have been through many "fires" and changes in this life since my last posting and feel deep gratitude for that mysterious Grace, presence of family, long lasting friends who have my back, whispers of mentors and teachers who are now ancestors, the magical and grounding presence of Nature, opportunites to laugh at myself and remember I am okay, the power of story, the deep grief that asks to be expressed without judgment and appreciation of the subtle beauty in the world. There is so much more to acknowledge and I give thanks to it ALL. I sincerely trust that all is well AND I need to be the best version of myself on all levels in order to make it through what is happening and what is coming. Humanity is moving from one epoch or age and being birthed into another. I think it is safe to assume that these transitions are never comfortable nor easy. It can be scary and painful. However, I beleive that the more we feed our connection to "the world behind the world" or our soul connection to Creator, the more we can integrate the difficult challenges of our time into a more authentic expression of ourselves and inner purpose. Frequency is changing, a new song is finding its way into the field of being, connection to the REAL, the True Flame is readily available, if we have the eyes to see and the ears to hear.
