Taking care of your breast health starts with knowing your risk—and having a simple conversation. 💗

If you’re approaching 40 and at average risk, it’s time to talk with your doctor about scheduling your first mammogram.

If you’re 25 or older with a family history of breast cancer, that conversation should start even sooner. Our Early Intervention Breast Clinic can help you understand your personal risk and create a screening plan tailored to you.

At ARA, our board-certified radiologists use advanced 3D and contrast-enhanced mammography to provide clear answers with compassionate care. Our dedicated breast health coordinator is here to guide you every step of the way.

Ask your doctor where you stand—and what comes next. We’re here when you’re ready.

Everyone knows their bra size, but not everyone knows their breast density.

And that matters more than most people realize.

Breast density can affect both your risk level and how clearly a mammogram can detect changes. Knowing yours helps you make informed decisions about your health and screening plan.

ARA Health Specialists provides clear, compassionate breast imaging with board‑certified radiologists who can catch subtle differences other less qualified radiologists may miss.

Our Early Intervention Breast Clinic can help you understand what your results mean, including your density, and what extra steps if any you may need.

Your annual mammogram is more than a routine check. It’s knowledge, it’s prevention, and it’s power.

A Pulmonary Embolism (PE) occurs when a blood clot travels to the lungs and blocks blood flow and oxygen.

Many people describe a PE as sudden, unexplained shortness of breath—a feeling that something is immediately wrong. Other symptoms may include chest pain that feels like a tightening knot, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, or coughing up blood.

🚨 PEs are a medical emergency. If you or someone near you has these symptoms, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Every knot in our Red Rope of Awareness represents a blood clot—and a reminder that awareness and fast action save lives.

It’s DVT Awareness Month, and we’re using our platform to remind our community that blood clots can be silent—but serious.

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in the deep veins of the leg or pelvis.

If part of that clot breaks loose and travels to the lungs, it can cause a Pulmonary Embolism (PE) — a life-threatening emergency.

Know the signs of DVT:

• Leg pain or tenderness
• Swelling or warmth in the affected area
• Redness or discoloration of the skin

Know the signs of PE:

• Sudden shortness of breath
• Sharp chest pain
• Rapid heartbeat or fainting
• Coughing up blood

Certain factors can increase risk, including recent surgery, prolonged inactivity, cancer, hormone therapy, pregnancy, smoking, and a personal or family history of blood clots.

The good news: DVT and PE are treatable—and often preventable—with early detection and proper care.

At ARA Health Specialists, our DVT Clinic provides advanced imaging and interventional radiology treatments to diagnose and treat blood clots with precision and expertise.

If you or a loved one experience symptoms of DVT or PE, seek medical care immediately.

When a joint becomes swollen, stiff, or filled with excess fluid, even simple movement can feel uncomfortable.

A joint aspiration can help bring clarity and most importantly; relief.

At ARA Health Specialists, our musculoskeletal radiologists use advanced, image‑guided techniques to safely remove fluid from the affected joint.

This approach ensures accuracy, comfort, and a clearer understanding of what’s causing your symptoms.

Joint aspiration can help:
• Reduce swelling and pressure
• Improve mobility
• Ease stiffness and discomfort
• Diagnose conditions like gout, infection, or inflammation
• Guide next‑step treatment decisions

Using ultrasound or fluoroscopy, we precisely target the area that needs attention - giving you answers and relief in one minimally invasive procedure.

If joint swelling is affecting your daily movement, early evaluation can make a meaningful difference.

Every knot in this red rope represents a life-threatening blood clot, also called a Venous Thromboembolism (VTE).

After treating more than 1,000 blood clots at their DVT Clinic, ARA Health Specialists are committed to educating Western North Carolina—with the goal of helping save another 1,000 lives.

🔴 VTEs—which includes Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE)—affect nearly 900,000 Americans every year, or one new case every 35 seconds

🔴 100,000 people die each year from VTE in the U.S.—more than breast cancer, AIDS, or car crashes combined

🔴 60% of VTE cases are linked to a recent hospital stay or surgery—and many are preventable

🔴 1 in 3 people who experience a VTE will develop another clot within 10 years without proper treatment

VTEs cause various symptoms ranging from leg pain, redness and swelling to chest pain and shortness of breath.

At ARA Health Specialists, our specialized DVT Clinic provides expert evaluation, advanced imaging, and coordinated care—because early diagnosis can be lifesaving.
