We want to enjoy this honor from a group of literal earth angels, and also affirm that our work here is far from over.
In the decade following an average hurricane event, the impacted community suffers 7,000-11,000 excess deaths. What happened to our home was no average hurricane (1800+ landslides changed the landscape as much in 48 hours as would usually happen in 10k years), and the worst has not yet happened.
We must continue to act, with sustainable urgency, to regulate nervous systems and provide relief from immense suffering so we can head this wave of catastrophe off at the pass.
Acupuncture works for this. It is effective at this. It is cheap to provide. And it will save lives.
One of the big next steps this coming year will be fundraising - we are on a mission to build a foundation, so we can fund free treatments at scale from the interest for at least the coming decade and ideally in perpetuity.
