A friendly reminder to don’t stop when it gets hard.

This week was the first week of ramping up my training. After a mini break over the holidays ofcourse it wasn’t as easy as the days before my last race. I was prepared for that.

I had to push a bit harder. My muscles were sore in places they havn’t been. And my pace may be a little slower.

I could have used soreness as an excuse this morning to not get moving, further delaying progress(and soreness), but instead I chose to lace up my shoes and go for that run.

My sore muscles thanked me, my legs carried me swiftly & my mind and heart were filled with His spirit.

Don’t stop when it gets hard or it will never get easier ✌🏼💜🌲

I woke up this morning to temperatures in the teens and snow flurries. Something us Asheville peeps havn’t seen a lot of this so called winter. I knew immediately what I had to go do.

I headed out for a run & brought my workout outside. 💜 This week I’ll be signing up for what has been a huge goal of mine this past year. And you bet I’ll need to dig into these moments of doing the uncomfortable to tackle it!
Time to start filling the cookie jar to look back on & enduring what may not be the most pleasant of hours in the moment.
Now time to warm up with a big ol cup of coffee & break a 41 hour fast 🙏🏼 .

One of my goals this year is to be more aware of my eating windows and stay in a fasted state longer than what I am use to.

Currently I’ve been challenging myself to 15-16 hours & working up to longer extended windows!

Curious...

Have you tried intermittent fasting or fasting? How long do you typically stay in a fasted state? How has it helped you?

Lets talk New Years Resolutions.. or better yet.. lets Re-Word that and say 2020 Goals.

The sparkle of Resolutions seem to fade away sometimes as soon as the ball drops and we wake up January 1st.

Its almost one week into the New Year & maybe you can relate to your resolutions fading away. Maybe you havn’t even started to take action on them yet or have been to busy to even really know what yours are.

I want to tell you that is Okay. BUT do not use that as an excuse to not make any goals at all. Goals stick no matter what time of year it is. Take this week and write out some goals and just START! Big or small, take action and run with them!

Today is my official day one of the Year. I encourage you to not let your dreams, goals, desires fall to the side just because you didnt hit the ground running exactly on January 1st!

With cool mornings here in the mountains of Asheville, sipping on something warm is always a treat to wake up to.

But, sometimes waiting for the pot of water to boil long enough to get all the flavors just takes to long (insert instant gratification needs here). Ya feel me?

So after making a crock pot pulled pork dish for a fellowship dinner one night, I got the bright idea to “crockpot” my water overnight.

Fill a crockpot up with water. Lately I’ve been adding juice from a full lemon, rosemary sprigs, a chunk of fresh ginger with a couple bay leaves and a dash of pink sea salt. You can throw a few of your favorite tea bags in there to! Leave on simmer overnight.

Each morning, I wake up to a perfectly flavored, warm cup of water full of amazing health benefits.

It really is the simple things in life.

The Holidays are almost wrapping up but the memories made will last a life time.
Tips to Remember these last days going into 2020

* Drink alot of water. Re-Hydrate yourself and you will start to feel a million times more refreshed.

* Reflect on this year but don’t get wrapped up in the “I should haves”, “I wish I had”, “I never dids”. This will just get you into a negative state- Reflect & move on. Get excited about what you DO have & what you CAN do!

* Move your body, even if its for a walk. Get that blood pumpin.

* Be Kind. Holidays can be stressful/emotional for others and you never know what some person may be going through. Love on people.

* Start making healthier choices now so when the New Year hits you have a jumpstart on feeling your best!

* Smile, Laugh & Cherish those memories for all they hold 🙏🏼
