Heart of Hakomi Hakomi therapy is a gentle, powerful body-centered method of psychotherapy based in mindfulness and loving presence.

Occasionally, an earthquake of an idea radically altered my thinking. Three of these ideas were:
1) the realization of the importance of the therapist’s state of mind;
2) an understanding of the method, not as working to cure disease, but as assisting another in his or her search for self-knowledge; and
3) an understanding of the unconscious as adaptive, that is, intelligent, aware, working to benefit the whole "
