Copal Ritual Teachings

On my 52nd birthday in the Yucatan I was able to be in a ceremony with a family of indigenous practitioners. This is where I drank copal tea for the first time, 4 years ago.

According to Yucatan h'men Juan Manuel fondly called 'El Indio' who led the ceremony, "Copal awakens memories of who you are, where you come from and your true relationship with creation, with everything in the cosmos and galaxy, with Earth and with all living beings that inhabit this place."

I've come to learn that the tea awakens DNA, heals ancestral issues that reside deep in the bones, aids the stomach & intestinal tract and helps with respiratory ailments.

He encouraged me to keep drinking the tea.

Under the guidance of my Madrina, Pamela Espinoza, we discussed the most sustainable way to make the tea, as a tincture.

I share with you how Itz Copal came to be.

I always source responsibly from my homeland of Belize. 🇧🇿

I continued to study the cosmology stories & be curious as copal has been a strong ally of mine.

Under the encouragement of a Yucatan Maestro Miguel Angel Vergara, and with permission to shine our light; I feel a nudge to share a ritual with this sacred medicine.

The winds were blowing crazy on this day.

They felt personal to me.

I reached out to my Elder to ask how I ought to honor the winds.

She said, "Go face the winds. Offer to***co. Ask the winds to cleanse you, ask Abuelito Viento to clear your ancestral karma, to hear your prayers & petitions."

She further said, "When the winds have the strength to be destructive, align with their forces for good "

It's a good day to pray with the winds, if you feel them or not, it is a day on the Maya calendar dedicated to this Element.

It is a good day to listen to your inner voice

It is a good day to write your intentions.

It is a strong & unpredictable day, caution with your words is advised.

Release your prayers to the winds... 💨

The Deity is listening.

Change is in the air, especially in the home and community.

On a very mundane level, do some Spring cleaning. 🧹

Allow a fresh breath of air to move through your space.

Be inspired!

Initiation...

A profound, often crisis-driven rite of passage that is meant to break down a person's old identity to awaken spiritual abilities, connecting them with the unseen worlds and enabling them to be a healer that would assist their greater community. The process can involve intense psychological and/or physical suffering to become a mediator of Heaven & Earth. It is a life long journey of spiritual maturation.

I am no stranger to the process of initiation. I have been asked to walk through many in my 56 years.

But this current transformation that I have been experiencing is a very destabilizing initiation in my life. The ground beneath me feels like it has fallen away.

30 years of daily mothering transitioned.
Relatives died.
Animals died.
Friends left.
A 4 bedroom home is quiet alone.
Clients are scarce.
Sales are slow.
It's the Winter of my soul and the grief is real.

I noticed I have some new followers. I just wanted to send greetings and thank you for being here.

I'll rebirth myself in time and return with some renewed spiritual gifts.

Once upon a time, before Abrahamic religions took hold, the people honored Pan, or some version of him.

This ancient Greek God is a half- goat, half-man hybrid who embodies a wild, untamed nature. A l***y, mischievous deity, often depicted with multiple nymphs, who encouraged one's deepest sexual desires to be realized.

By playing the magical pan flute, the musical instrument he created; a rustic melody emerges, evoking deep emotions that entice one to dance, move and awaken their passions. The flute music leads to revelry, untamed nature and wild (consensual adult) sexual encounters.

Religion cast Pan aside, they turned him into the Devil. When you send your bodily desires underground to be buried, to be viewed as 'wrong' , to repress your natural urges; they don't go away, they haunt you.

And in the haunting, they own you. Instead of disappearing, these desires will manifest in unhealthy and unexpected ways. Significant negative effects on your emotional, psychological, physical and relational well being will occur.

That is where the Abrahamic religions have taken us. Into the deep dark territories of the mind, to a place where the Devil can exist.

I've picked this card two days in a row as my card of the day. The archetype is asking for me to express myself.

I remember my 5th grade teacher, in a Christian school, who was mean & cruel, especially to bipoc. A man who enjoyed sending the young wyt boys to the quiet chapel for duties and then finding any excuse to leave the classroom himself. I wonder about those boys. That teacher's nasal speech & obvious repressed homosexuality is something I can name now, as an adult. As a child, it just felt like something was wrong and I needed to be hyper vigilant.

The Devil walks among us. He's our leader in chief, our priest, our teachers, our medical doctors, our bankers, our judges, our family, our supposedly trusted relatives; he is everywhere.

The sickness the Devil has provided is insidious and pervasive.

How do we escape the hell he has created?

We open our eyes.

Oomantia 🥚

What is it?

Divination by use of an egg... 🥚🔮 The desire to understand what tomorrow brings is a human urge that has existed through the ages.

In Curanderismo, we use eggs to cleanse our auric fields, 'limpieza con huevo', but also to read the field.

This term, oomantia comes from two Greek words; oion & manteia; one means eggs and the other prophecy.

Are you curious? Are you ready for a session with the egg?

Notice in the picture, the Tarot World card that our archetype is surrounded by an egg. When they have completed their Fools journey, from 0-21, they are protected by the shape of an egg.

We all begin as a single cell organism, as the egg our mother releases, and according to Tarot imagery, we complete our Earth walk in the auric field of our essence, as depicted by an egg, before returning to Mother Earth.

I invite you to come experience this session 🫴 to cleanse heavy emotions, to clarify the energies surrounding you and to refortify your original essence, as it was in the beginning.

A little offering of to the spirits of this land who have taken such good care of me y mi familia 🩷🙏 and all those who walk through my gate to receive a healing moment.

Standing under this guardian of my home, the tree, I am able to express my gratitude for the protection, the love, the transformations and the ongoing connection to the 🧚‍♀️

Offering up the copal resin from the smoking cup, this is my prayer of love & acknowledgement to the spirits that take care of my home, asking that they continue to support me as I travel to Merida, Mexico. 💀🌀

It's day 16 of a 36 day obsidian mirror challenge with ⚫

We look into the smoking mirror to face our true reflection, to clear our subconscious, and to release what is no longer needed from our lives.

We may meet our ancestors, our past life reflections, or our totem animals in the mirror, our Nahual.

We will come to know Tezcatlipoca, the force of the North. who allows us to become intimate with and clear our ancestral shadows.

Presently, my dream state is super heightened. The mirror has opened up the floodgates to lucid dreaming.

Did you know an obsidian mirror is in the British Museum in London? It's called the "magical mirror''. It belonged to John Dee, spiritual advisor to Queen Elizabeth I. The mirror came from the Aztec empire.
