There’s been a lot of talk about GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and similar options lately.
Unpopular opinion in the fitness world right now…
People using GLP-1 medications don’t automatically lose muscle.
They lose muscle when they stop eating enough and stop training properly.
Big difference.
And the hair loss? Same thing, lack of nutrition.
One thing I’m seeing more and more in my coaching practice is people using very small “micro-doses” strategically while still prioritizing real fitness habits.
When it’s done responsibly, and paired with the right training and nutrition plan, the results can actually be really impressive.
The difference? They’re not relying on the medication alone.
My clients who are having the most success are the ones who are: Strength training consistently •Eating enough protein •Following a structured meal plan •Focusing on body composition — not just the scale
Because of that, they’re losing body fat while maintaining their muscle, energy, and strength.
GLP-1 medications may help reduce appetite, but they don’t build muscle, protect metabolism, or teach sustainable habits. That part still comes from training properly and fueling your body correctly.
And when those pieces are in place, the results look very different from the scary muscle-loss stories you hear.
Fat loss. •Muscle preserved. •Strength improving. •Healthy habits built along the way.
The medication isn’t the magic — the strategy is.
I’m currently working with several clients, like this one pictured, using micro-doses alongside strength training and structured nutrition, and the results are very different than what people expect.
Don’t wait until you’ve dropped 30 to 50 pounds and look like a melted candle before incorporating the training and nutrition.
