Amazing what wonders can be done!

In a remarkable feat, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center completed a 20-person kidney transplant chain, pairing 10 donors with 10 recipients. These incredible outcomes highlight the medical center's dedication to transforming lives through the power of organ transplantation.🥼❤️

We were glad to say goodbye to 2024, and thanked God above for the many lessons learned over the last 365 days. Our education has been focused on the best care, diet and chair days that will allow both of us to care for one another. It also gives us more time to reflect on God and his purpose for us. As we roll into 2025 one of the things we both are doing is this page with the help of our family. We aren’t counting days, we are making memories.

Hello and welcome to our page, Kem Merritt’s Kidney Journey. Together, we want to raise awareness of our journey, as a married couple, as parents of adult children, as grandparents, and most importantly, as each other’s caregiver.

The purpose of this page is to promote awareness of kidney disease, from onset of failure, through the dialysis process and promoting the living donor program at OSU. Kem was diagnosed with ESRD in September of 2022 and has started year three on the transplant list at OSU. He is type O.
