Today's Thirsty Thursday at Hanthorn’s on Pier 39 - Astoria!
For nearly a century, the women of this cannery showed up.
They filled the cans. They labeled the tins. They mended the nets. While the fishing boats got the glory, it was the women inside this building — right here at Pier 39 — who kept the whole operation running.
The Hanthorn Cannery Foundation honored that legacy with the Cannery Woman’s Memorial Monument on the Astoria waterfront, just steps from where we pour.
