We sat on hold with a mail order pharmacy for precisely 1 hour and 41 minutes yesterday to try and transfer a patient’s prescriptions into our pharmacy. We wish we were exaggerating. When you call our store, if someone has a free hand to answer the phone, it will be picked up in 2 rings or less. Mail order pharmacy services are unacceptable. Bring your business back local and give us the opportunity to show you the difference it makes in customer service.

*09/29/2023 COVID Vaccine Update*

Today we received 200 doses of the NEW COVID vaccine. All 200 doses are manufactured by Pfizer. It is recommended that you wait at least 2 months from your last COVID shot to receive the updated vaccine. As a reminder, our vaccine protocol allows us to vaccinate individuals 18 and older without a prescription. No appointment necessary. First come first served on Monday-Friday 10am-5pm. Thank you for your patience!

*We do not know how soon we will be able to get more doses after we use all of these doses. We will continue to order more doses as quickly as we are allowed by our distributor. We will continue to update everyone on COVID vaccine availability at our store as we learn more*

** COVID Vaccine Update **

We are anticipating being able to receive and start administering the new COVID vaccines some time around mid to late October. Supply constraints have created a situation where very few pharmacies are able to get very few doses at one time. This has created a delay in our pharmacy being able to access the vaccine quicker. We will continue to provide updates on the new COVID vaccine and its availability at Hawthorne Drugs as we receive updates. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to serving you soon!

Vaccine Update!

1) We will begin offering flu shots on Monday, August 21st.

2) The new COVID-19 vaccine is expected to be out sometime in September. It is still unclear exactly who will be eligible to receive the vaccine. We are waiting on further CDC guidance. The new shots are designed to target the XBB variants — strains of the virus descended from the original Omicron variant — which are now the most common form in circulation.

3) You do not need an appointment to get a vaccine at Hawthorne Drugs. Just come in anytime between 10am-5pm Monday-Friday.

4) Patients age 13 and older do not need a prescription to receive the following vaccines at Hawthorne Drugs. We have a protocol that allows us to write the prescription for you:

a) COVID-19
b) Flu
c) Shingles
d) Pneumonia
e) Meningitis
