Me pretending to pay attention after a client asks for recommendations to achieve their skin goals, and then they tell me “I’m going to use these over the counter products instead, but can you look at the ingredients before I get them?” 👀👀 later they call me saying their skin looks the same.

-Let me give you a scenario, it’s just like going to the Doctor and they prescribe you something for your severe dandruff condition (which is medically called Seborrheic dermatitis).

**You decide not to get the prescription and use the over the counter product. It helped a little, but didn’t improve drastically. You later used the prescription, which is stronger and later resolved the issue.

**Does this make sense?

We, as Estheticians want you to achieve your skin goals, therefore we will recommend the professional grade products which are stronger more active ingredients than over the counter. This is why you have to be a licensed professional to even carry these products.

Did you know?

The sun is the reason we age, have brown spots, freckles, dilated blood vessels, make rosacea worse, make your hyperpigmentation or dark spots… darker, causes skin cancer and more!

This is why it is so important to wear a daily sunscreen SPF 30 or higher and to reapply every 2hrs while outside. Hats are a nice touch to add additional sun protection but it can not replace sunscreen 🧴

Tips: Sunscreen in AM before leaving the house (no matter what). You can also purchase a sunscreen with moisturizer. Try to as consistent with your sunscreen as you are with brushing teeth in the morning. It’s that important.
Sunscreen will also help achieve your skin goals.

Follow . After analyzing some of my clients goals, which are achievable, but, take this in consideration.

If you have a goal for your skin, having one facial or facial treatment will NOT give you clear skin or achieve that goal. Multiple facial treatments or modalities are needed, along with a consistent Pro skincare regimen. It takes 6-8wks to see a noticeable difference with a skincare regimen alone. Facials, chemical/enzyme peels, Dermaplaning, etc will speed up the process.

**It is safe to have a facial every 2-4wks.

I have to share this. I had someone contact me recently and told me they have access to professional grade products and have been using various products to treat some problematic concerns. Needless to say, this person has no improvement, no results. Actually skin became worse. So, this is why you need to seek a licensed Esthetician! Having the products does not mean you have the training, knowledge base, experience and skill set to achieve your skin goals. This happens all the time. Morale to the story, see a licensed Skin therapist (aka Esthetician). I think your skin is worth it. If you pay for your hair, you should definitely pay for your skin! Your skin will appreciate it😁 Your skin is like your canvas.
