If you’ve ever visited a Waffle House, you know about the deliciously iconic “scattered, smothered, and covered” hashbrowns. Picture this: the neon yellow glow ⚡️of the signs reminding you of late-night adventures with your bestie during high school, where every bite felt like a celebration of potato goodness! It’s been ages since I’ve set foot in a Waffle House—almost two decades!—but recently, that dish’s catchy name started to reflect something I’ve been feeling.

Lately, I’ve been wrestling with low energy and that pesky companion known as health anxiety, making me wonder if I should start my own “Exaggerated Medical Condition Support Group” (just kidding!). But then, BAM—a lightbulb moment hit me after a blissful Yoga Nidra guided meditation this morning. What if it’s not a lack of energy but rather a case of my energy being as scattered as spud confetti at a party, leaving me feeling smothered and overwhelmed?

By choosing to set an intention to soften and relax, I noticed my energy beginning to behave like a well-trained athlete—calm and focused! With a peaceful mind, all those wild, scattered vibes gathered together like best buds. Suddenly, the fear of running low on energy took a backseat to a newfound sense of clarity. So here’s a big shoutout to Waffle House for inspiring my tasty metaphor! Now, who’s up for some hashbrowns? 🍳🥔✨

🔥 Today I witnessed the most powerful visual metaphor…

Two dishes.

One was completely burnt in just an hour at 480°.
The other? Perfectly cooked — after three hours at 150°.

And it hit me:

Real growth — whether personal, professional, or spiritual — isn’t about speed.
It’s about strategy, consistency, and patience.

We live in a world obsessed with urgency — with overnight success, fast results, and instant everything.
But the truth is, all the best things in life… take time. ❤️🙏🏼

So if your path feels slow, don’t be discouraged.
Maybe — just maybe — you're slow-cooking something extraordinary on a low flame.

Keep going. Your masterpiece is in the making. 🍲✨

In this time of other, may we remember that ultimately we are one.💖

A lot of wisdom here, I believe. 👍How about instead of "terrified," we wake up feeling hungry for success or ambitious or excited. Language is important and powerful and shapes the quality of our actions.

Happy March!🍀 This morning, I find myself reflecting on one of my most cherished rituals. When my son was born, I invested in this magnetic dry-erase calendar to grace our refrigerator. In those overwhelming moments of new parenthood, it became a beacon of certainty and control. Now, it holds that same soothing power for my wonderfully sensitive child.
This calendar has evolved into a tapestry of our lives, helping us enjoy the anticipation of holidays, mark special moments, and coordinate the myriad of appointments that keep our daily lives running in harmony. At the end of each month, I take a moment to appreciate everything that’s happened: the joyful moments, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the incredible lessons learned. As I plan for the upcoming month, I can’t help but dream about all the adventures that lie ahead for us.
Even though the calendar shows its age, with a few stains and worn edges, it’s truly an irreplaceable treasure, woven with the stories of our family. It captures the essence of our memories, beautifully layered throughout the years.
Do you have any special rituals for reflecting on your time? I’d be thrilled to hear about your experiences!

Ah, moving—one of life's most stressful events—and here we go again. Our last move from Seattle was (clears throat) less than smooth. This time, I am choosing to approach things differently, consciously adopting a mindset of opportunity and adventure. I want to be open to life's delights while showing up with intention, and to do this, I am implementing my wellness practices. As the world—and many of us—experience elevated stress, I feel compelled to share this journey and the tools that help along the way.

Today's reflection: For the past while, I have been cultivating a new morning habit: training my mind to start each day with the thought, "Thank you for this day and the opportunity to co-create with the powers that be." It may sound a bit fluffy to some, but those specific words trigger unique responses in my body and mind.

The phrase "Thank you" places me into a state of gratitude which activates my parasympathetic nervous system, immediately reducing distress (the unhelpful type of stress) and resulting in improved physical and mental health, increased creativity, and more enjoyment! The word "opportunity" shifts my mindset from "have to" to "get to" opening up hidden energy reserves. “Co-create” helps me feel supported by life, placing me in a state of flow and collaboration. When the load is shared with infinite power, that ‘s a reliable teammate.

By crafting a morning thought with those words that resonate with you, you can shape your day and set a conscious tone for what lies ahead.

Onward and upward!

I love sharing health and wellness tips and treasures. 👏🏻Today in Pilates, I shared a method I use for releasing tight pectoral muscles of the chest (which can lead to pain in the shoulders and neck). A suggestion I receive from my sports chiropractor and the fantastic personal trainer Miguel Ortiz– place at lacrosse ball on your chest muscle and then lean into a wall or door jam to roll it around Yogi bear style (scratching his back on a tree). If you find a particularly juicy spot 😳, pause there, breathe 😮‍💨, and watch the knot soften and release. *Always check with your healthcare professional, and listen to your body.*
