✨ It breaks down:
– Why attention feels addictive
– How to tell if you’re settling for proximity, not partnership

Because for many Black women, today doesn’t feel like freedom.
Not when strength has been survival.
Not when silence has been required.
Not when rest still feels like a luxury.

This week’s blog is for those of us who are unlearning the need to hold it all together — and choosing to come home to ourselves instead.

🖤 “I’m Not Strong, I’m Surviving” is live.

Fresh Start February: Your Chance to Reset

January was… a lot. Between political shifts, economic worries, and the stress of trying to keep up with resolutions, many of us are feeling exhausted. But here’s a reminder: You can start fresh anytime.

✨ Need a reset? Try this:
✅ Step away from the constant news cycle—it’s okay to take a break.
✅ Break big goals into small, consistent habits that actually stick.
✅ Focus on what you can control—your habits, energy, and well-being.
✅ Lean into community, whether that’s friends, therapy, or activism.

Feeling drained after the election? You’re not alone.

After big events, it’s common to feel a mix of emotions—hope, disappointment, and sometimes, complete exhaustion. Many are questioning if they should keep showing up for causes or communities, especially when it feels like others aren’t doing the same. Compassion fatigue is real, and now is the perfect time for some intentional self-care. 💙

Here are a few ways to protect your peace and stay true to yourself:

🌱 Radical Acceptance: Accepting what’s beyond our control doesn’t mean we have to like it—it just helps us find peace with it.

🌱 Mindfulness: Pause and notice your emotions. When we name our feelings, we allow ourselves to process them without judgment.

🌱 Values-Based Living: Stay connected to what matters most. Small acts, like connecting with loved ones or supporting a local cause, honor your values.

🌱 Rest and Renewal: Taking a break isn’t quitting; it’s recharging. Make time for rest to prevent burnout and refresh your spirit.

🧡 Just because September—Su***de Prevention Month—has ended, doesn’t mean the conversation should. 🧡

Every September, we dedicate extra time to raising awareness about su***de prevention and mental health. But the truth is, these are issues we need to keep talking about and addressing every single day. Su***de prevention is an ongoing effort.

If you know someone struggling or in crisis, or if you need support yourself, don’t wait to reach out. Call or text 988—the free, confidential Su***de & Crisis Lifeline available 24/7. 🤝🏾 Your call could make all the difference.
