Director of Nursing (DON) ~Licensed RN

We are searching for an dynamic, energetic, devoted, caring nurse to join our Management Team at The Cottages at Rockmart. This position requires an RN with flexibility, commitment and self initiative with successful leadership skills a must. Managerial experience required. Participation in Quality Assurance Programing
Supervise and Evaluate the Performance of Nursing Department including direct over sight of Nurses and Care Companions (CNAs)
Assists with implementation of policies and regulations that govern the day to day functions of Nursing Department
Ensure in-service/education training programs (i.e. HIPPA, Abuse Prevention, Safety, OSHA, etc) are current and meet the continuing education requirements for Nursing Department
Review resident care plans and assist with development of comprehensive assessments including risk assessments for long and short term goals
Communicate effectively with residents, families and staff
Some varying hours due to Call Rotation for Staffing
Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator
Applicant must be professional ,demonstrate comprehensive nursing skills as well as show the character of compassion for resident care. Managerial experience a must. Excellent problem solving and decision making abilities required. Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards preferred. Prior supervisory or management experience a must. Satisfactory completion of background check and pre-employment drug screen required. Statement from The Cottages at Rockmart on Inaccurate Media Reporting

We are aware of recent media coverage inaccurately listing The Cottages at Rockmart among Georgia nursing homes potentially at risk of closure due to Medicaid funding challenges.

This report was based on a national study that used three specific criteria to identify at-risk facilities:

Heavy Medicaid payer mix
Occupancy below 80%
A 1- or 2-star CMS rating
However, The Cottages at Rockmart currently holds a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), placing us well above the quality threshold used in the study. Therefore, our facility does not meet the criteria and should not have been included in the media coverage.

Additionally, we want to clarify that The Cottages at Rockmart is not an assisted living facility. We are a state-licensed skilled nursing facility (SNF), regulated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Georgia Department of Community Health.

Our current occupancy reflects a strategic decision made during our transition from the former CedarSprings Health & Rehab campus. We intentionally maintained a lower census to support a smooth move, allow staff education, and implement our resident-centered household model of care. Every decision — including when to open each cottage — is guided by our commitment to staffing thoughtfully and providing the highest quality of care.

We have formally requested that both media outlets issue a correction to reflect the accurate CMS rating and remove our facility from their reported list.

Our team remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering high-quality care to our residents and supporting the well-being of the families we serve. We thank our community for its ongoing trust and support.

Infection Preventionist, LPN or RN ~ Full-Time

The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct the facility infection prevention and control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern such programs and as directed by the Director of Nursing, Administrator or Corporate Compliance Team. Some duties include:

• Completes New Hire and Annual Employee Physicals
• Performs Fit Testing for N95 Respirators
• Exhibits flexibility, commitment, and self-initiative with professional character
• Demonstrates an energetic, devoted, and caring disposition with experience in Infection Control
• Occasional varied hours required due to Call Rotation for Staffing

Andy's vision for changes in the Skilled Nursing Facility Industry is why we were developed and built. Ironically, it was 4 years ago that our home was opened although he dreamed of this coming to fruition for years prior. He wanted residents to have quality, dignity and longevity in a home like environment. This industry is better because of his commitment and dedication to both residents and staff. We are better having known and loved him. Our entire campus, residents and staff, will be grateful for his work, for his heart for others and for never giving up on this dream ~ our prayers are with his family. He will be greatly missed. RIP ANDY!
