National Wear Red Day is more than a color choice. It is a collective heartbeat. ❤️

Today we wear red to support individuals and families impacted by heart disease, including children and adults in our own community living with congenital heart defects and other cardiac conditions. For many parents, heart health is not just a headline. It is appointments, medications, advocacy, and quiet strength.

By wearing red, we stand beside those families. We raise awareness, spark conversations, and remind one another that no one navigates a diagnosis alone. If your child or loved one has been affected by a heart condition, we see you and we stand with you.

Let’s fill our feeds with red and our community with support. 💗

Want an easy and fun way to get a snapshot of your child’s early literacy skills? Check out the NEW Pre-K Reading Assessment from the National Center on Improving Literacy. This interactive experience is designed to help adults understand the early reading and language skills of their pre-kindergarten students. Children complete short, playful activities guided by Moji and Pebble, while adults score their responses.
This validated assessment is designed for teachers, caregivers, and other adults working with pre-kindergarten children (typically ages 4–5). It can be used in classrooms, learning centers, or at home to observe early literacy development.

The Academic Screening Tools Chart Selector was created to help streamline the user's experience when searching for a screener that fits their goals.

Together with the Georgia Special Education PTSA, we are collecting reports from families across the state regarding recent disruptions to Katie Beckett, which were caused by an IT problem at the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH).

We are gathering information to better understand how families are affected, including impacts on:

▶ Access to healthcare and needed services
▶ Continuity of supports and resources for children and families
▶ Financial strain and unexpected costs
▶ Overall family well-being, stability, and safety

Your input will help us share the overall impact to DCH and in working toward solutions.
