Some things can’t be measured in hours.

It’s the patience in every conversation.
The empathy in every interaction.
The way someone shows up, not just to help, but to truly care.

This week, we’ve seen your stories, your gratitude, and the powerful reminders of what this community means.
And one thing is clear: the impact of our volunteers goes far beyond what we can count!

As Volunteer Appreciation Week comes to a close, this isn’t the end, it’s a continuation.

💬 What inspired you this week?
💬 Has a volunteer made a difference in your life?
💬 Been thinking about getting involved?

We’d love to hear your story below, and if you’re ready to take that next step, this is your moment. Visit our website to "Get Involved".

Before you keep scrolling, take a second for this:

Kindness. Listening. Shared experience.
These aren’t small things—they can change someone’s life.

That’s what volunteers do every single day. And the impact doesn’t stop after one conversation… it echoes forward. ✨

We're seeking dedicated board members who are ready to actively contribute, not just attend. If you're an individual with disabilities, a parent, caregiver, or family member of someone with disabilities, or a professional serving this community, you are welcome at the table.

We are seeking expertise in fundraising, finance, marketing, grant writing, law, healthcare, or education policy, but above all, we look for people who are truly committed. The reality is, being on the board means showing up consistently, engaging in fundraising efforts, and dedicating your time to a cause greater than yourself. If that resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you.

Parent to Parent of Georgia supports individuals and families statewide, and we aim for our board to represent this. If you are interested, please complete the Board Interest Survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WQNYMJD

As Volunteer Appreciation Week comes to a close, we want to say this clearly:

We could not do this work without our volunteers.

You help families feel supported, connected, and understood.
You create impact that lasts far beyond a single conversation.

Thank you for everything you do. ✨

💬 Drop a heart or a “thank you” in the comments to help us celebrate our volunteers!

Did you know?
A person traveling with a service animal cannot be denied access to transportation, even if there is a “no pets” policy, cannot be forced to sit in a particular spot, and does not have to provide advance notice that he or she will be traveling with a service animal.
These laws apply to both public and private transportation providers and include subways, fixed route buses, paratransit, rail and light rail, taxicabs, shuttles and limousine services.

Is it a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for a taxicab to refuse to pick up an individual with a service animal?

Quick answer: Yes, this is a violation of the ADA. Get additional resources about the Americans with Disabilities Act and service animals by visiting our page here: https://adata.org/faq/i-operate-private-taxicab-and-i-dont-want-animals-my-taxi-they-smell-shed-hair-and-sometimes

Gratitude is powerful.

When volunteers feel appreciated, it reminds them that their time, care, and compassion truly matter. And sometimes, a simple “thank you” carries more impact than we realize.

💬 Take a moment today to thank someone who has supported you—it might mean everything to them.
