We are nearing the end of our countdown and our #2 most liked post reminds us of just how difficult it was to carve the Blue Ridge Parkway out of the sides of these mountains. We are grateful for the historic funding investments at work right now to maintain the Parkway for the enjoyment of future generations. More of this vital maintenance work will be conducted in 2024, so planning ahead remains critical to any parkway adventure. Be sure to check the road status information updated daily on the Blue Ridge Parkway's official website to make sure you can reach your intended destination.

Building this scenic route was a feat unlike any seen at the time, and now the responsibility to maintain this historic, scenic route is equally complex.

Multiple ongoing road and bridge maintenance projects are happening across the Parkway this summer. We are fortunate to have landmark funding investments at work right now to ensure visitors can enjoy the Parkway for generations to come.
