I always get questions about being a death doula. There are lots of ways I could describe what a death doula is and what exactly we do but for me, it is so much more than I can put in a post or website. My calling is simply to serve dying individuals in any way that they need, that I am able to do. It can be in the final moments or long term, perhaps after a new diagnosis. It can be simply companionship or even errands or end-of-life planning. Anything that helps the person (and their loved ones) be less burdened so they can focus on what’s most important - themselves and each other.
