I know we’re all looking for the secret to long-term, sustainable weight loss and honestly, I’ve found it.

It’s not very sexy, and it doesn’t come in a pill or an injection. It doesn’t even come in the form of a specific program. It 100% comes from you (OK, I take back that … it is sexy!).

Your "why" is the deep-rooted reason (I’m gonna say that again … deep rooted!) behind your desire to lose weight, and it's what will keep you motivated and dedicated throughout your journey.

There’s a reason Your Why is the first topic in our resources. It’s the foundation of your entire journey. What’s your Why? Is it stronger than the pie?!

Here are a few steps to get you started:

1️⃣ Reflect on Your Personal Goals: Take some time to reflect on what you REALLY REALLY REALLY want. Is it to improve your overall health, gain confidence, feel more energetic, or set a positive example for your loved ones? You want to discover your underlying motivations.

2️⃣ Dig Deeper: Once you have identified your goals, dig deeper and explore the emotional reasons behind them. Ask yourself why achieving these goals is important to you. Perhaps you want to feel comfortable and confident in your own skin or have the energy to keep up with your kids. Understanding these emotional reasons is key to your weight loss journey.

3️⃣ Visualize Your Future Self: Close your eyes and visualize your future self after successfully reaching your weight loss goals. Picture how you will look, feel, and the positive impact it will have on your life. This visualization exercise will help you connect with your desired outcomes and ignite your determination.

4️⃣ Surround Yourself with Support: Share your weight loss goals and reasons with your loved ones or join a supportive community (happy to sneak you into ours). Having a support system that understands and encourages your "why" will provide you with the motivation and accountability you need to stay on track.

5️⃣ Celebrate Small Victories: Along your weight loss journey, celebrate your small victories. Whether it's losing a few pounds, fitting into a smaller clothing size, or accomplishing a fitness milestone – acknowledge and reward yourself for your progress. These celebrations will reinforce your commitment and keep you motivated.

Remember, your "why" is unique to you, and it's what will drive you towards achieving your weight loss goals. It's essential to regularly revisit and strengthen your "why" to stay motivated, especially during challenging times. 🚫 5 WAYS BEING OVERWEIGHT AND TIRED DEPRIVES US OF LIFE 🚫😴

The fear 😧 of feeling deprived is a common obstacle to health. Summer is often a time when our health journey can take a back seat. So as summer starts to wind down, I wanted to share some thoughts on how NOT prioritizing our health deprives us of loving our best life. Let’s live and love our lives to the fullest!🌟

1️⃣ Lack of Energy: I love it when someone tells me they no longer need naps or their friends notice about how much energy they have. Talked to a client one week into her journey this morning and her energy level is night and day different ⚡️ from ONE WEEK AGO! Fatigue prevents us from fully enjoying activities we love, like playing with our kids, going for hikes, or pursuing hobbies.

2️⃣ Reduced Mobility: Those extra pounds (and inflammatory foods) 🍔 take a toll on our joints, making movement uncomfortable and even painful. Talk about stealing life! That same client this morning talked about how her joint pain and swelling were drastically better. I hear this all the time. I can relate to this! 🙋‍♂️The anti-inflammatory benefits happen fast! Prioritizing health is about getting our lives back!

3️⃣ Increased Health Risks: Excess weight raises the risk of developing a long list of health conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer and more. Even if your blood work 👩‍⚕️ looks fine, that doesn’t mean you’re healthy on the inside. We can significantly reduce these risks and improve our overall quality of life.

4️⃣ Emotional Well-being: The effects of being overweight go way beyond the physical. It also impacts our mental health 🧠 — low self-esteem, reduced confidence, and increased stress or anxiety. The great news is focusing on our physical health naturally improves our emotional wellness! 🌈

5️⃣ Missed Opportunities: Living life to the fullest means embracing new experiences 🧳 and opportunities. Being constantly tired deprives people of adventures with family and friends and opportunities for personal growth. Ready to break free from these limitations!? 🌟

Here’s a lighter version of a Mexican classic that doesn’t skimp on flavor !!

Cheesy Chile Relleno Casserole

4 servings
Ingredients:
• 3 cups halved or diced canned green chile peppers
• 3 cups frozen spinach, thawed
• 6 oz. reduced-fat shredded cheddar cheese, divided
• 6 oz. reduced-fat shredded Monterey jack, divided
• 2 tsp dried oregano (Mexican oregano, preferably)
• ½ tsp garlic powder
• 3 large eggs, beaten
• 3 tbsp fresh cilantro for garnishing (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350⁰F.

2. Using a clean kitchen towel or your hands, thoroughly ring out all moisture from the thawed spinach.

3. In a clean bowl, combine the spinach with half of each cheese (cheddar and Monterey jack). Mix in the oregano, garlic powder, and eggs.

4. Using a 9x9-inch casserole dish, place half of the chile peppers on the bottom. Pour half of the cheese-egg mixture over the peppers and repeat using the remaining peppers and cheese-egg mixture.

5. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake for about 30 minutes until the cheese has melted and the casserole has set and is heated through.

6. Remove the casserole from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes.

7. Top with cilantro and divide into equal portions. Serve hot.

1 lean - 3 green - 0 healthy fat - 1 condiment (per serving)

This whole "it runs in my family" is a bit of a pet peeve 🐶, so here goes.

Yes, genes 🧬 matter. But choices matter more. I didn't say it was easy. It's not. But you have support. 🙋‍♂️

I did a little research 🔬

It's estimated that about 25% of the variation in life span is determined by your genes. That means your choices and habits dictate 75% of your health! 💥

Nearly half of all premature deaths 😮 could be prevented by healthy lifestyle choices, according to Harvard.

Let's take a common "lifestyle" condition -- diabetes. It's estimated that 9 out of 10 cases of diabetes could be prevented through healthy lifestyle changes. By the way, if you already have diabetes, lifestyle is the #1 best, most effective way to control it (and yes, that means you could come off those meds!). 💊

OK, so you have the stats. I'm here to help in any way I can ... turning this pet peeve into my passion ❤️ of changing lives. 🫵
