When I first started a plant dominant eating style my cravings for sugar definitely intensified, but when I went all plants, I became Pookie 's (from the movie New Jack City) twin sister! My cravings were chronic & intense. I realized that the combination of not getting enough protein from plants in my diet, chronic stress from watching my parents slowly leave this earth, poor sleep & perimenopausal hormone imbalance were ALL the culprits for my chronic blood sugar dips AKA CRAVINGS!!!! Rest, hydration, protein balance, meditation, therapy and revamping my plate has me in a much better place with sugar cravings now! Start with baby steps like reducing refined sugar!! When you're well rested & not stressed -- you can command your day! Start with a protein packed breakfast. Use natural sugars from fruit to sweeten cereals & beverages!
