I'm super grateful that my private practice keeps getting more and more clients. Though I'm mostly being paid privately through families, 30% of my clientele are getting their services paid through non-profits.
Every time someone new signs up that is funded by a non-profit, I have to go through the whole rigamarole of drug testing & background checks. I wish there was one database that stored this information as I find it a bit silly to keep having to do this so regularly, sometimes in the same week.

Adventures in music therapy..... I worked bi-weekly at a rehab facility for a year. It was really sweet as the patients signed multiple petitions to get the rehab to pay for me to come daily. They kept getting turned down and kept signing more petitions.

One day I arrived and one of the clients told me that they had to hide me and a bunch of residence as the rehab was being audited and they didn't want to release just how many residence were living at the facility.

My crew still wanted music therapy group so one resident jimmied open a window and we all snuck in through this window, crawling through this tunnel type thing and passing instruments through.

It ended up being SUCH an intense group and I ended up giving them two hours where I was supposed to give them a ,"clinical hour," which is 45 minutes. It was such a beautiful moment and one I'll remember for the rest of my life. For me, clients come first. MUSIC THERAPY FOR LIFE!!!
