According to Patanjali, the father of Yoga, what is an Asana (posture) ?

Pathanjali says, “Sthiram (ஸ்திரம்) Sugam (சுகம்) Asanam (ஆசனம்)”.

Sthiram means Stability.
Sugam means Comfort.
Asana means Posture.

A good asana is the one that gives both stability and comfort. In other words, it’s critical we give equal importance to both stability and comfort and not one at the expense of the other.
