To Us, You Are Family!
When I was a little girl and being raised by my Grandma Frances (whom I affectionately called Mama), I remember riding the “Medicaid” van. We were poor and my uncles all had full time jobs. We had to depend on that type of transportation because my Grandma Frances did not have a vehicle and that was the only means of transportation that we could depend on to get back and forth to appointments. There was one experience inparticular that I will never forget as long as I live. The Medicaid transportation van dropped us off early one morning at my Grandma Frances’ doctor’s office. After the appointment, we waited and waited and waited to no avail. They never returned to pick us up! My poor Grandma had no money and she was a diabetic. I was small and we were both hungry. We had to wait until one of my uncles came home from work, around 5pm that afternoon, so that someone could come pick us up. We lived about an hour away from the doctor’s office and back then, there were no cell phones. This experience has stuck in my mind all of these years because the devastating look on my Grandma’s face was unforgettable. By the time we arrived back home, Grandma Frances was sick, lethargic, and plum wore out. Needless to say, we were both famished.
When I began providing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Services, that memory remained fresh in the forefront of my mind and has served me well. I am cognizant of the fact that when people need to go to the doctor, the care and compassion in which the transportation service is provided, is of the utmost importance. Each time, myself or one of my transportation providers, place an individual in one of our vehicles, I am reminded of that sad, hot summer day, standing on the lawn outside of the doctor’s office, awaiting a van that would never return. That memory alone has caused Charris Transportation to become one of the most elite Non-Emergency Medical Transportation services in the southeastern region of the United States. Given the opportunity to provides service to you, a friend, or family member is an absolute privilege and pleasure. We treat our clients as though it was my Grandma Frances each and every time. You can count on us to ensure comfort, safety, dependability, reliability, and a warm fuzzy feeling on every occasion. Thus, we proclaim, To Us, You Are Family!
