✨ A New Space for Maternal Health in Atlanta ✨

We’re excited to announce the opening of a new sacred space in Atlanta—created for birthworkers, by birthworkers. This isn’t just another location… it’s a movement. A home for holistic maternal care, where midwives, doulas, and postpartum nurse practitioners are not only welcome, but essential to the vision.

In this new era of birth work, collaboration is care. Imagine what’s possible when a midwife is guiding clinical decisions, a doula is supporting emotionally and spiritually, and a postpartum NP is ensuring a smooth recovery and addressing long-term health—all working together as one united maternal health team. 💪🏽💗

We’re not gatekeeping healing. We’re building it—together.

📣 Calling all Atlanta birthworkers: midwives, doulas, lactation consultants, childbirth educators, pelvic floor therapists, herbalists, mental health professionals, postpartum care specialists and beyond…

If you’re passionate about changing the narrative around Black maternal health, normalizing support at every stage of pregnancy and postpartum, and truly seeing families thrive—we want to meet you. Let’s connect, collaborate, co-host events, offer workshops, share resources, and build a network that holds the village down.

📍 The space is here. The mission is clear. The doors are open.

DM us, tag a birthworker, or drop your info below if you’re ready to collaborate. Let’s make Atlanta the gold standard for maternal wellness.

✨ Let’s Talk About Baby’s Position When Introducing the Bottle ✨

Breastfeeding mamas — when it’s time to offer that very first bottle, position matters! And so does timing.

👶🏽 Delay Introducing the Bottle (But Not Too Long!)
To support your breastfeeding journey, it’s best to delay introducing a bottle until baby is around 4-6 weeks old (unless medically necessary). This gives time for your milk supply to regulate and for baby to become a confident nurser at the breast. 💪🏽

📦 Why Position Matters: Use Side-Lying
When you do offer a bottle, side-lying is one of the best positions — especially for breastfed babies. Here’s why:
• 💨 Reduces Gas: Side-lying mimics the natural flow of breastfeeding and slows down the milk intake, reducing the chance of swallowing air.
• 🍼 Controls Volume: Babies can better manage the amount of milk they take, avoiding overfeeding.
• 🔄 Supports Transition Back to Breast: This position feels similar to breastfeeding, making it easier for baby to go back and forth without ni**le confusion.

🧠 Remember: Bottle feeding should still feel like nursing, not guzzling. Think paced feeding and baby-led cues. No baby should feel rushed or overwhelmed!

Need help with positioning, paced feeding, or the transition from breast to bottle (and back again)? I’m here for you. 💕 Drop a comment or DM — let’s make feeding feel good for both you and baby.

I’m incredibly honored to have been featured on the Portia Show on FOX 5 Atlanta to talk about something that’s close to my heart: maternal health. I was joined by an amazing panel of women who are changing the game—Midwife Christine, Doula Vanya and Dr. Salter—as we discussed what it looks like to shift the narrative and bring real solutions to the table for Black maternal care.

One of the most beautiful highlights of the episode was seeing my client Janecia and her family share their powerful home birth story. Not only did she complete my birth coaching course, but she also gave birth in the comfort of her home—delivered by the incredible Midwife Angelina. Watching her step into her power, supported by a team that honored her choices and her body, is the exact kind of transformation this movement is all about.

This episode is a reflection of a new wave of change—where doulas, midwives, and holistic providers come together to give families the care they truly deserve.

📺 Tune in this July when the episode airs—you won’t want to miss the energy, the stories, and the message.

We’re not just talking about change. We are the change. 💜

A lot of people ask me why I chose maternal health over more “popular” paths like aesthetics or psych. The truth is—it was never about the trend, the glam, or what might look good on paper. It was about purpose.

I chose maternal health because I saw a real need—especially in our community. I’ve witnessed firsthand how Black women are often unheard, overlooked, and under-supported during one of the most powerful and vulnerable times in their lives: pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I didn’t want to just show up where it was comfortable—I wanted to stand in the gap. I wanted to be a part of changing outcomes, educating families, creating safe spaces, and empowering mamas to trust their bodies and voices.

While aesthetics and psych are valid and valuable fields, my heart knew where it belonged. Maternal health is where I’m called to serve. And every birth, every postpartum visit, every tear wiped and hand held reminds me—I made the right choice.

Addressing Black Maternal Health: Why Maternal Home Visits MatterBlack families continue to face alarming disparities in maternal and infant health. Here are three key statistics that highlight the challenges:1️⃣ Black women are 2.6 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women. Many of these deaths are preventable and linked to systemic barriers in healthcare access, bias, and inadequate postpartum care.2️⃣ Black infants have a mortality rate that is more than twice that of white infants. Premature birth, low birth weight, and limited access to high-quality prenatal care contribute to this crisis.3️⃣ Nearly 40% of Black mothers experience postpartum depression, yet they are less likely to receive treatment. Stigma, lack of provider trust, and limited access to culturally competent care prevent many Black mothers from getting the support they need. How Maternal Home Visits HelpMaternal home visits offer a solution by providing:✔ Personalized Care – A trained professional monitors maternal and infant health, ensuring early intervention when needed.✔ Education & Advocacy – Families receive guidance on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery, reducing complications.✔ Mental Health Support – Home visits create a safe space for mothers to discuss postpartum emotions and get connected to resources.Black mothers deserve care that prioritizes their health and well-being. Expanding maternal home visit programs is a crucial step toward reducing these disparities and saving lives.
