A foot X-ray is a diagnostic test that uses radiation to take pictures of the bones and other structures in the foot. This test is used to help diagnose problems with the bones or joints, such as fractures, arthritis, or bunions. The X-rays are taken from different angles and then combined to create a clear image of the structures being examined. We are delighted to announce the newest member of the Ankle & Foot Centers family, Dr. Matthew King! Dr. King earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL. He returned to Wake Forest to complete surgical residency where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction. He will be seeing patients at all three of our office locations: Franklin, Hermitage, and Lewisburg. Dr. King is welcoming new patients and accepts most insurance plans. We are regretful, yet joyful to announce Dr. Charles Sidlow’s retirement from the practice of podiatry. Dr. Sidlow has worked as a podiatrist for 35 years. Dr. DiStefano is from Syracuse, New York, and has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Syracuse University. After finishing graduate studies at SUNY at Buffalo, he attended the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed a three-year residency at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. DiStefano is currently seeing patients at our Calhoun & Cartersville office. We are pleased to announce the newest member of the Ankle & Foot Centers family, Usman Sultan, DPM!
Dr. Usman Sultan is a native from Kingwood, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He attended Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Sultan then completed a rigorous three-year foot and ankle residency at Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center in Toledo, Ohio, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Sultan takes pride in exhausting non-surgical options before proceeding to surgical intervention and will devise a treatment plan based on the needs of his patients and their lifestyles. Dr. Mindy J. Trotter earned her earned undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and then attended medical school at Des Moines University, College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery. She then went on to complete a rigorous comprehensive foot and ankle surgery with an emphasis on complex deformity correction and wound care residency at Dekalb Medical Center.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Abigail Rappa to our Wayne Foot & Ankle Center/ Ankle & Foot Centers of America family!
Dr. Rappa attended Fairfield University in Connecticut, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Rappa then earned her doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine where she was involved in many extracurricular activities and recipient of several APMA Educational Foundation Scholarships and the J.T. Tai Scholar Award. She continued her education as a resident at New York Presbyterian/Queens, a level 1 trauma center, where she received extensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery and medicine including trauma and reconstructive elective surgery.
