Welcome Matthew Brown to our Advisory Board!

We're honored to welcome Matthew Brown Senior Relationship Manager, Regional Banking Greater Charlotte Metro and Cabarrus County at The Huntington National Bank, to our Advisory Board.

With over 25 years in the banking industry, Matthew brings a wealth of experience in strategic advising and community-focused support. He holds a Civil Engineering degree and an MBA from UNC-Charlotte and has proudly called Cabarrus County home since 2001.

Matthew’s passion for caregiver wellness is deeply personal. Having seen the emotional toll caregiving can take, he is committed to supporting those who give so much of themselves to care for our most vulnerable our aging and kids.

His perspective and experience will be an asset to our work — and our nonprofit is excited to have him as we continue to make our unseen caregivers seen and provide educational programs to foster self-care to help prevent burnout in our communities and the workplace.

Thank you to the Opal Autism Centers for hosting such a meaningful End of Summer Autism Resource Fair! It was an honor to be part of this event alongside so many passionate organizations dedicated to supporting individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

Ashley Henderson and Carolyn Dowdy. volunteers of Caregiver Mental Wellness had the pleasure of connecting with fellow vendors who are truly making a difference — and, most importantly, with numerous parents and family caregivers eager to attend our workshops and view our upcoming video resources launching at the end of summer — all focused on fostering self-care and helping caregivers prevent burnout.

A special thank you to Dr. Gary Pate, Ph.D. in Health Psychology with Opal Autism for his interest in our upcoming videos. He’s especially excited about the videos we’ll soon be releasing for parents.

We’re proud to be part of a growing community that prioritizes parents and caregivers' well-being.

Meet our new founding Advisory Board!

"We are proud to introduce the founding members of the Caregiver Mental Wellness Advisory Board — a powerful group of thought leaders, professionals, and advocates united by a shared mission: to make unseen caregivers seen. These caregivers support our most vulnerable — including ailing, aging, and disabled adults; children with special needs; and individuals with conditions such as autism and Down syndrome. Caregivers are the silent backbone of our communities, and our most vulnerable are depending on us to raise awareness, provide education, and advocate for self-care resources that help prevent burnout and promote well-being."

These changemakers bring invaluable experience, empathy, and vision to our work. Whether through lived experience, professional insight, or a desire to build better support systems, each of them believes deeply in our mission to uplift the emotional, mental, and physical well-being of caregivers.
