Feel Your Feels

Think of emotions like waves — they rise, peak, and pass. Neuroscientist Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor found that emotions only last about **90 seconds** chemically. But we often prolong them through habits like overthinking, negative self-talk, or unresolved wounds.

By recognizing this, you can break the cycle and learn to sit with your emotions instead of resisting them.

**Here’s how to ride the wave:**

1. **Name it without judgment.**
Instead of “I shouldn’t feel this,” try:
*“This is frustration. It’s temporary. It will pass.”*

2. **Feel it in your body.**
Notice where it lives — chest, stomach, throat? Breathe into it.

3. **Use a sensory anchor.**
Ground yourself with music, scent, touch, or breath.

4. **Move the energy.**
Cry, shake, dance, walk — let it move through you.

5. **Get curious, not critical.**
Ask: *What is this feeling telling me? What need is unmet?*
