It’s finally here! Team Jared’s Journey will be walking in the Shatterproof Rise Up Against Addiction tomorrow, November 5, 2022 at Piedmont Park, Atlanta, GA because we want a future where fewer people die from this treatable disease. The event begins at 8:00 AM with the walk following at 9:00. The route is approximately 3 miles.
Please join me and many others who will be walking in memory of our loved ones. The walk is free. Donations will be greatly appreciated.

Our team name is Jared's Journey. Jared passed away at the young age of 29 on December 24, 2016 due to his battle with addiction.

"Dopesick", an excellent series starring Michael Keaton outlining the opioid epidemic created by Purdue Pharma's introduction and lies about Oxycontin being promoted as a non-addictive pain management solution began airing on HULU tonight. This is an excellent series for anyone wanting to learn more about the history of how the Purdue family made an egregious, selfish, and life changing decision that cost thousands their lives, many more who continue to fight addiction today and possibly for their lifetime, and those of us who have said goodbye to our children and loved ones far too soon. I encourage you to watch. God bless all of the families who have lost children and loved ones from opioid addiction and overdose!

THOUGHT AND COMMENT FOR TODAY: How many more young lives are we going to read about and hear about who continue to lose their lives to "accidental" overdose? Fentanyl is not the accident! The accident is that you used and trusted someone who is not your friend and never will be your friend. Every time you use, you're at risk to DIE! These drug dealers are NOT your friends! They don't know what they are giving or selling you. Simply put - they don't give a damn! They make their $$$ and move on. So make no mistake about it...you ARE playing Russian Roulette with your life every time you buy or use. Ask yourself this question - Would I take a loaded gun, put a bullet in the chamber, spin the chamber, place this loaded gun to my head, and pull the trigger in "hope" that I gambled correctly? Hell no! No one in their right mind would do that. If your answer is "NO" or even "YES", then please seek help TODAY! If not, your luck is going to run out. Unfortunately, it's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when". Addiction is a disease and that's OK. WAIT! Did you hear me? Addiction is a disease and that's OK! Many people have different forms of disease, yet they are still capable of living very happy and productive lives with the right treatment and support. You can to!
