🚨 SNAP BENEFIT ALERT: Federal Work Requirements Update Effective Nov 1, 2025 🚨

The USDA has announced major changes to SNAP under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) that will impact Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) starting November 1, 2025.

Here’s what you need to know ⬇️

🔹 Key Requirements for ABAWDs

Work or Training: You must work or participate in a qualifying work/training program at least 80 hours per month.

Time Limit: Benefits are limited to 3 months within a 36-month period unless you meet the work requirement or qualify for an exemption.

Effective Date: Enforcement begins November 1, 2025.

🔹 Exemptions

You will NOT be subject to these new limits if you are:

Medically certified, with verifiable documentation, as unable to work

Pregnant

Caring for a dependent child or incapacitated person

A veteran

Experiencing homelessness, with verifiable documentation.

🔹 What This Means for Recipients

You’ll receive written notice before any benefits are stopped.

To stay eligible, you must either meet the 80-hour requirement or apply for an exemption.

Be sure to report your work or training hours to your state SNAP office.

🔹 What States Must Do

Track and verify all ABAWD work/training hours.

Notify recipients before benefits are terminated.

Report participation and exemption data to the USDA every quarter.
